On this episode with Neal and Julie, they explore how the DNA of the political left seems infused with themes of control, cultural dominance, and projection, while dissecting the personal vendettas that have fueled the animosity between figures like James Comey, Mitt Romney, and Donald Trump. They reflect on Trump’s near-assassination ten months ago and how it shapes the broader conversation about threats, law, and accountability.

Peter Doocy’s comments on mob lingo spark discussion about Comey’s apparent ignorance of such references, despite his background prosecuting mobsters. Julie and Neal also dive into how the left’s obsession with Trump in an orange jumpsuit has backfired in light of the upcoming election cycle.

Shifting gears locally, they tackle the Jefferson County ambulance district debate, breaking down the proposed new tax levy on the May 20th ballot. Julie highlights the confusion among residents about current costs versus the proposed levy and stresses the need for voters to be informed about what’s already in the county budget and how this affects their property taxes. They take calls from listeners who add more context and personal perspectives to the issue.

They also reflect on Joe Biden’s shaky debate performance and how it sent shockwaves through the Democratic party, exposing panic within the ranks as the election looms just months away.

And of course, there are lighter moments — from jalapeño pronunciation to pickleball confessions — as Neal and Julie keep the show grounded with humor and listener interaction.

There are 680 district court judges, and they are dedicated. And they are scholarly. And I'm not impugning their motives in any way. But, you know, sometimes they're wrong. Hey, man. Good morning. It is 807 on Newstalk 179. It's a Friday. Welcome to the Neil Larson Show. Looking forward to. Well, we have a lot.

We have a lot to get to today. Ketanji Brown Jackson and, she she's kind of an embarrassment, I have to say. I know that she broke a demographic barrier, and it seems like the entire DNA of the left wing is infused with DNA ideas and concepts. Maybe they don't call it that specifically, but this is, what happens when you, when you go that route, and it's very, very sad.

It's very sad when merit is not first and you put the demographic stuff first, because Ketanji Brown Jackson just made some amateurish arguments, in the court yesterday. We may get to some of that audio. There's also drama surrounding James Comey. I'm sure you've heard about this by now. If you've been paying any attention at all. The former FBI director just innocently, casually posted on his Instagram an arrangement of seashells on the sand and he said, oh, cool seashell arrangement and the seashell arrangement was for numbers 8647.

So 8647. Well, there's a reason why. Now let's look at let's look at the context here because you might think, well what's what's 8647. Well it's not 8647. It's two numbers actually 86 and 47, 47 reference to Donald Trump. And by the way, the seashells were colored differently. So 86 had a different color than a 47. That's information you need to know.

And 47 clearly a reference to Donald Trump, given the context of James Comey and who he is. And 86, you might wonder, well, what's that? Now, I've heard the term before. It's I, I don't use this sort of lingo unless I'm just trying to embarrass kids or people or whatever. But it just doesn't naturally roll off the tongue like it's 86.

The you know, the hamburgers, 86 can mean a few different things. And apparently in restaurant lingo, it means it's off the menu. We're out of it. We're 86 saying that because we don't have it on the menu. I don't know the origins of it, and quite frankly, I don't really care all that much. It can also mean to stop doing something in a broader context.

I could say, you know what? Everybody has weather on their phone. So we're going to 86. The weather. We're not, but we're going to 86. The weather in here. You could say that. It also means to kill to kill. That is a a it's probably not the most common, but it is most definitely been used in that context.

Peter Doocy was on, I think, with Laura Ingram last night and he said in, you know, if you go in mob talk, that means you take him eight miles out of town and you've put him six feet under. And that's what the reference is. 30s of googling, you can see that a good chunk of people all around the world also associate 86 with meaning to kill somebody.

An old mob, an old mob saying, basically take somebody eight miles outside of town and then you put them six feet in the ground. James Comey, again, a guy who has prosecuted mobsters, apparently had no idea that this was a thing. He deleted the original post with the cool shell formation, and he writes, I posted a picture, earlier of some shells I saw today on a beach, which I assumed were a political message.

I didn't realize some folks associate those numbers with violence. It never occurred to me, but I oppose violence of any kind. And I took the post down. Okay, bull baloney. Okay, that. No, that's not I. Nobody buys this. Nobody believes Comey. Nobody thinks what he's saying is is true. Everyone knows that this was a veiled reference to, you know, it would be nice if some whack job out there could just take care of this for us.

Just weenie. Weenie with the. That's what you look at the history here. Look at this. You have this FBI director who was in that capacity when Donald Trump became the president. It's clear, and especially when you look at things in retrospect, Trump knew that Comey was working against him. Trump's been around the block. He knows a snake when he meets one.

And he knew Comey was a snake. So in very Trump fashion, knowing that Comey's a backstabbing, lying snake, Trump fires him when he's in California on some speaking engagement trip. And he remember that. Do you remember that was like one of the first big dramas of Trump? 45 he fires Comey when Comey's out of, Washington. He is not authorized because he's been fired to fly on the plane back to Washington, and he has to take a commercial flight.

And now you have to understand something about James Comey. He's like six seven. He he has an incredibly generous view of himself. He's got gravitas. He's tall, he's handsome. He's, you know, all of the things he's I think he's an attorney. I mean, he's he's a very accomplished guy and a very smart guy and a guy who, incidentally, has a massive, massive ego.

And that, no doubt was one of the most humiliating moments of his professional career. And guys like Comey, they don't forget it. It's sort of like Mitt Romney, Mitt Romney's kind of, similar vein. He's not nearly as tall is Comey, but Mitt Romney is worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Very accomplished businessman, Harvard educated, all of that.

And then Mitt Romney embarrassed him by inviting him to dinner to discuss being secretary of state. And then he dumped him. And that was something Mitt Romney could never forget. I, I think there are genuine political differences, but I think the root of the animus between guys like Comey and Romney and Donald Trump is those moments, those very personally offended moments that they've had with Trump and that has fueled vendetta for them.

So I think Comey has lived in that context. He has actively undermined Donald Trump since before Donald Trump became president, the first time. Remember when they had to invest Hillary Clinton about the email server, classified info stuff, and Comey holds the press conference and everything he's saying sounds like it's a precursor to announcing an indictment. And then he got to the but no reasonable prosecutor, section of that.

And we're like, oh, he's running cover for. And he did. So he's always been a lefty. I'm sure that he was a key player in the establishment of the Deep State, in, in our intelligence agencies. And now it must be just devastating for him to have to wake up every morning. And among his first thoughts are a remembrance that Donald Trump is the president of the United freaking States.

And he, I'm sure, can't. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall the night that Donald Trump won. November 5th, 2024. What must have been going through Comey's mind and and heart at that point? He is a whatever a hit it. He he is such a small person. He's big but he's a small person when it comes to his ego, when it comes to his, his treatment of he's just not a grown up emotionally.

He's a very small person. That's what I'm trying to say. He covers it pretty well, like the guy who's got the gravitas, cosplay thing going pretty well. But now, conservative backlash as there should be. I mean, keep in mind, it was ten months ago, almost to the day, ten months prior that Donald Trump got shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, and came within millimeters of that ending his life.

And then it was only a few weeks later, another legitimate attempt on his life in Florida didn't get to the shooting phase, but there was a legitimate attempt on his life. And Comey is out there putting garbage like this on his social media. So you have the reaction. Tulsi Gabbard, she's not holding back. She says that James Comey needs to be in jail.

No, whatever his intent, I will tell you that there is a guy in, Georgia who was issuing threats on my life about a month ago, and he's in jail today. He has been indicted with a crime, as he should have been, and he is in jail as we speak. So whatever James Comey intent, he and people like him need to be held to account, according to the law, which is something that he claims to have given his life for and stands by the rule of law.

Fantastic. The rule of law says people like him who issued direct threats against the president. United States, essentially issuing a call to assassinate him, must be held accountable under the law. Do you believe Comey should be in jail? I do. Any other person with a position of influence that he has, people who take very seriously what that what a guy of his stature, his experience and what the propaganda media has built him up to be.

I'm very concerned for the president's life. We've already seen assassination attempts. I'm very concerned for his life. And James Comey, in my view, should be held accountable and put behind bars for this. It Julie made this point earlier. If this was some Yahoo in Wenatchee, some purple hair dude with, you know, nose rings, you'd probably go, okay, what is this being a door?

This is the former FBI director. This is a guy who, as Peter Doocy said, has gone after mobsters. Well, as he but, you know, he he's in that world. He knows what 86 means and the different contexts that it can mean. And then after the fact, you, what's odd to it if he thought it was, well, let's just stop this or take it off the me, he didn't make any reference to that.

He's like, this is an interesting arrangement of seashells. No, nobody buys it. And nobody, believes him. When he says that. And you might remember this, and this is the last thing I really don't want to talk about James Comey all day, but this was I don't know the exact date on it, but he was talking with peppermint Patty on MSNBC.

So is after she left the white House. But the effort to weaponize the DOJ against Donald Trump was in full swing. And you had the left fantasizing day and night about Donald Trump in an orange jumpsuit going to prison. Do you agree with that, that it would be difficult or nearly impossible for the law enforcement institutions to put him in an actual jail?

No, they would just put him in a double wide somewhere out near the fence, out in the grass, and he would eat there. He'd shower there, he'd exercised there, he'd be away, as Donya Perry said, from general population. But it's obviously doable. Oh, how the turns tabled. Look at us now. Look contrast right now with what he said a couple of years ago.

You have Donald Trump, who is flying home from one of the most productive foreign trips that we've seen, a president engage in. Even Biden. Some of Biden's top aides are praising Donald Trump for what he has been able to accomplish in a matter of 96 hours. There. It is astounding. It is astounding to think what the last four months have been for the United States of America in terms of movement on trade, in terms of movement on the economy.

And very, very few people can operate at the speed of Donald Trump. They're struggling. Mike Johnson is struggling to keep up. He's struggling to keep, his Republican controlled House going at Trump's pace. And it is frustrating to see this happening because we have opportunity here and this window is limited. And here they were talking a couple of years ago about putting him in a double wide at a prison yard somewhere apart from the general population.

And here he is flying around the world, operating very, very effectively and bigly. As the president of the United States states. It is such a remarkable contrast with what pathetic hopes and ambitions they had for Donald Trump and what the reality is today. And it makes me think when you sometimes I think, well, let me ask you a question.

Have you ever had a series of events in your life when God, you look back on it and God was present in your life and operating in your life, and you may not have realized it in the moment because you maybe you're just not looking at it. But yet in retrospect, you look at the entire landscape and you realize there was some divine orchestration that was going on.

And I there are two points in time regarding Trump that are sort of crystallized in, in my mind. And the first was the FBI raid on Mar-A-Lago and the arrangement of the documents and the photo op of the documents that they put forward. And there was no reason to raid Mar-A-Lago the way that they did. Everybody knows that they did it for show.

They did it for intimidation. They did it out of hatred. They did it because they had weaponized it. And I remember later that morning and this was when DeSantis was kind of riding high and everyone was talking about DeSantis running to be the president because Trump was still injured from the January 6th, politically injured from the January 6th.

Stuff, and felt like maybe his political stock wasn't great and we were still in that. Well, I guess there's a slim chance. And I remember during that raid I said he has to run. And I said that on the radio show. He he now has to run because when you're bullied, you're the one that has to stand up to the bully.

You can't have some other proxy step in. You have to be the one. That's the only way that we can exorcize this demon. When you have a weaponized, powerful arm of the government coming after you, you're the one that has to stand up. And I thought Donald Trump has to run. It has to be that Donald Trump runs and wins and defeats this.

So there was that moment. And then ten months ago, Butler, Pennsylvania, Donald Trump standing there. And I remember I wasn't watching it live, but I started to see the notifications on my phone that Donald Trump had been shot. And, quickly I went to find out what was going on. Is he still alive? How injured is he? All the all of the questions and Julie was my first phone call when I found out what had happened.

And then later when we watched the video over and over and over again, and he had turned his head at that last minute, and the bullet grazed across the top of his ear, I thought that was divine intervention right there. That shooter was close enough. They allowed him to be close enough that that would have been an easy shot.

And had Trump not moved his head, he'd be dead. And at that just last moment, I thought that was God. And so when in in that context, when I realized sort of these crystallized moments around Donald Trump, I look at it and I view the events of today in a context where it's impossible that God is apathetic. And I don't think he intervene and pulls every little lever in every little mo movement of the day.

I don't think everything is dictated and directed by God. We have free will, we have all of that. But I do believe there are critical moments where things get guided and nudged a little bit. And when I look at America, who I believe God loves may not be at it more than other countries. But I do believe that our presence on this planet at this time is very important for God's purposes.

And who leads? It matters at this time, and I think that no weapon that has formed against Donald Trump has prospered and he thrives. He he doesn't just survive these fires that he walks through that would consume any other politician. And I literally mean any other politician he walks through. And he's even more energetic on the other side.

It is stunning to watch. And when you talk to people who interact with him on a regular basis, they say the same thing. Julie mentioned the other day that reporters aren't quite sure when he sleeps. Being with him on this foreign trip, they're not sure. Well, maybe it's not him. Maybe it's not him sustaining himself. All right, it's 827 on Newstalk 1079.

Got to break away, but we'll come back on this Friday morning. It's 832 on Newstalk 179. Julie just delivered some very good news to me from one of our listeners who texted me and apparently and said that, how can I say jalapenos with an accent? Is that okay? Is that cultural appropriation of jalapenos? Yes. I can grow jalapenos, in know, at a window sill inside, just a pot and a windowsill.

They'll grow year round. Yes, I'm definitely going to do that because I got my seeds. Town and country gardens. I'll probably put some in the garden and then I'll do some. How? Because I love you know how much I love Halloween. Oh, it's a it's worthy of a 12 step program. But go right ahead. Let's let's feed your addiction.

Well, yes. That's literally they're they're worse addictions than jalapenos. But, so yeah, I do that. I did get up. I got to go home and check my tomatoes that I planted though, because there was a little frost on my car this morning. Okay. I do not know where the man who I drove next to on my commute to work today came from.

Yum. But he didn't scrape his windows and he was going to about 15 miles under the speed limit because he couldn't see. Where did all that ice come from? I don't know, he might have come from the hills where maybe it's cold, but, my car is said, like 37 driving in. And maybe, maybe coats can explain this where 32 is the freezing slash melting point.

How is it that I can have frost that's just on the top of my car parked outside, but it's 37 degrees while I'm driving to or 34 degree or something. It was higher. That was above the frost point. Anyway, I'm I'm hopeful where my tomatoes are sitting. It's kind of under an apple tree, but it still gets enough sun and the tomatoes had lots.

The soil was very saturated, so that's good because there's more moisture. It's going to emanate heat at night. So I think I'm probably okay, but I'll have to check today. Yeah. You'll have to look. Yeah. Well, anyway, even if you did kill them, you can get more at your garden. True. That's true. It would be easy to start over.

It would be? Yeah, it would be. They are south of Idaho Falls, across from the malting plant on Yellowstone Highway. Stop on down there. They have many employees who are experts in the various parts of lawn and garden. So if you need the four step program, they'll help you. If you just need some, garden prep, they'll help you.

If you're ready for seeds, they'll help you all of that's available at Town and Country Gardens. And tell them that Neil and Julie sent you a, you know, can I just. And by the way, yes, I absolutely advocate for that. If it was going to freeze, I don't know why Michael Coats wouldn't text me and let me know.

He's just not a good friend. I know I, I need him to tell me what the weather's going to be. Personally, not. Yeah. We'll be back at 835 on Newstalk 117. All righty. It's 841 on Newstalk 107. And Neil Larson, along with Julie Mason. And, we definitely are living in a simulation. Julie, we believe we are.

We just had a weird occurrence in the studio. And, so that's what we're saying. So but that, you know what, the fact that we're living in a simulation is not going to stop us from, having a replay studio for cover today. Yeah. We're excited. We love this one so much. And by the way, so did the listeners.

The first time around, but we thought it would be a great, second edition, let's call it that. Yeah, well, you asked me earlier this morning, you're like, is it too soon to play the Didi family? And they were on a couple of weeks ago and very well received. Our audience loved it. So we're going to do that for you this morning.

All right. Their band is Pioneer Street. It's dad and four kids. Two boys, two girls. And they performed Copperhead Road by Steve Earle, a couple of weeks ago. And we bring that to you again this morning.

To.

You.

My name's John Napier. We the same as my daddy. Daddy? Before?

Harley. Ever saw Grand daddy down here?

They only come to town about twice a year.

About 100 pounds of yeast and some copper line and everybody knew that he made moonshine.

Now the revenue man wanted grand daddy. Ben headed up to holler with everything he had before my time. But I've been told you never come back from Copperhead Road.

I.

Can't do.

Daddy. Round whiskey. A big block does it. He bought it at an auction at the Masons. Like.

Johnson County sheriff beat it on the side. He shot a Cuda primer in it. Looked inside.

He might go to the engine down.

I still remember that rumbling sound.

Now, the sheriff came around in the middle of the night, heard mama crying. If something wasn't right headed down a notch, that was the weekly love you can still whiskey burning down Copperhead Road.

On TV. The me and My birthday. Got the white trash first round here. Anyway.

Citizen duty in Vietnam.

I came back home with a brand new flag.

Take the seed from Colombia and Mexico.

And burn it down a holler up Copperhead Road. Now the DEA, the guy, the chopper in the air. I wake up screaming like I'm back over this. I learned a thing or two about it. Don't you know you better still blazing Copperhead Road in.

May.

They.

Julie, I'm so glad you asked me to play that. It's such a good one. It really is. And those kids are young. You guys are you. They are young kids. So talented. They're very young. And they sound like a seasoned band. Like they're just. We had a drum set in here. We had a girl playing a mandolin, a kid playing the bass guitar, kid playing the harmonica.

It was so cool. Deedee is pronounced daddy. Their band is Pioneer Street if you want to track him down on social media. So, pretty cool. Lots of it. Lots of good comments. Fun family. All right, 847 we'll be back.

Oh, I, I don't have a lot of faith that things carry through because I think there's a dirt on everyone in DC. And so that stops, that state that stops people from facing what they shouldn't be doing in life.

Yeah, I, I don't know if I want to go as far to call this criminal activity because I don't know how it is under the statute. I don't know what they would charge him with. You know, I and I don't know what more you can strip him of. I don't know what clearances he still has. I have no idea what you can take away from him, but if he has anything, it should definitely be gone.

Yes, I would agree with that. I don't think he should have any added privileges at all. Because he's a former FBI director, that that ought to just go away like he's b clowned himself and he's he's lost his right to have that. And and I would agree with you, I don't know that they would ever be able to prove criminal intent.

In this, even though I think the writing's kind of on the wall. I would agree with that. I, I mean, there was. And you know what? Maybe we are not giving him enough credit. He is a smart man. Oh, I he's very smart. He maybe he knew what he could get away with. He knew where the line was.

Yeah. Yeah, yeah that's true. And I think he's probably, well, we heard a, a pundit earlier on Fox News talking about the, the places that Jim Comey probably frequents online, on social media. This kind of stuff is incredibly tame, probably, for him. So he probably felt like, yeah, I can put it out there. And it's sort of like virtue signaling, but it's not virtue.

It's more like anger signaling or rage signaling. Right. And I, I think that, you know, that's the realm he's in. Those are the people that he surrounds himself with. And I think it just sort of fits right in with who he is. And then once he's caught and there's a backlash, he does the oh my gosh, I didn't realize folks equate that with violence.

I'm like, no, nobody buys that James. Yeah I, I you know what if he was smart enough and he knew what he was doing, he should've just left it. Yeah. He really should have. It makes me wonder if he got a phone call from somebody and said do you really want me protecting your rear end? If you do take it down.

Yeah. Yeah, it's. That's true. Yeah, yeah, that's a good point, but I do. I think the ultimate fate for James Comey will be to go to prison as much as I would hope so. I don't think so I doubt it. Yeah, but he's just a slime. He's pathetic. Yeah. He is he and he you know, I always,

I didn't know him all that well before the Hillary Clinton classified email stuff went down. Like I was aware of who he was, but he just wasn't a guy that was daily in the news cycle. But ever since then, I've just thought, this guy, there's just a bad vibe around him, a very, very bad vibe. Look, we have a handful of bad interactions with politicians in Idaho.

It's when and when I say a handful, that's all it really is. Because almost exclusively, our interactions with politicians are actually really great, even with people on the Democrat side, when we interview them, they're really great. But there are a handful of kind of underhanded and skeezy things that have been done. Yes. Would you ever wish this on any of those people that we've had those interactions with?

Never, never. I don't think those thoughts there has never been a moment. And and look, there are some politicians I really don't like that I, I will not be sad if I don't ever hear from them again. Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, Barack Obama, like we all probably have a roster of politicians that would be like, just go retire somewhere.

Do you throw yourself and never do another media hit again? I'd be thrilled with that. I've never wished them harm or that violence happens to them. Kind of a dark, ugly person. Are you on the inside? What does your soul look like? I, I don't know, and I, I truly believe, though, all of the accusations by the left accusing the right of violence is actually projection.

That's what's in their heart. And it's very clear when you look at real events over the last ten years, political violence in America almost always comes from the left. Yeah, but they don't like that. The they're the they're the ugly. So they need to to pin it on someone else. So they talk about, you know, white supremacists and all the rest.

So all right, that's going to do it for this hour. But we have another hour coming up and we will open up the phone lines. Looking forward to taking your calls in the next hour right here on Newstalk 179. And good morning. It's 907 on Newstalk 1079 it's Neil Larsen along with Julie Mason. Our two underway and if you'd like to reach us, remember it is Friday, which means you have the opportunity, which is a near obligation, to call in and be a part of the call to action.

Yes, it it is so all right. We're actually going to jump right to the phones. We do have a caller on the line. Caller go ahead. How are you today? I'm doing well. How are you? Good, good. What's on your mind? So we have a vote May 20th on a new tax levy in Jefferson County. And I would love to share my opposition to this vote.

Oh, you know, Levy actually, I'm glad you called. We had proponents in yesterday to talk about it, and I thought we would love to hear the other side. So the floor is yours. Wonderful. So the they part of this, there's three components that we're worried about. Number one is the new government agency. That means three more commissioners with their salaries.

I have not been able to find out who that may be or what they would be paid. The county commissioners currently would be the ones who appoint them. They would not be elected for two and then four years after the fact. So the May 20th is the last chance that we have to say anything about this new district.

So the new government agency is number one. The next one is at the tax levy. And so I don't know if a lot of people understand on our property tax bills there are lines of levy. And so for some people this would be the 12th line. That means if you don't pay your property tax then the county can actually leverage our levy to house the property.

And there are a lot of people in the nation and around the world who are paycheck to paycheck. If they miss a payment they could own, or the county could come in and take care of that property. And so that's a big, huge red flag for us. We also we're concerned about the timing of this. I have been here for many years and did not hear about this until recently.

And so the county was saying, oh, we've been talking about this for five years. I looked at the county budget, $33 million. They've been talking about this for five years, but they haven't put the money towards this. They want us to pay more money. So I was looking at the budget, and there's $1.4 million for road oil this year and 700,000 for wheat, but not for the ambulance.

It doesn't make sense. You know, a lot of us would have thought that would be covered because we pay a lot in taxes, but apparently it's not. And so I think the money can be shifted. My solution is to apply some of the Arpa funds that the county has 1.3 million currently towards the new ambulance, and then use that current 618,000.

It's already in the budget towards the operating costs. So that's my idea and solution or recommendation. I think that I think people already thought we had this. And so that's my big concern, is that this is news to us. And I don't think a new tax levy is an appropriate answer for most of the citizens. We can't afford it.

You know, with inflation and prices rising. And they said that they can increase the the amount 3% every year. And they're saying only 3%. Well, how many of us get a guaranteed 3% increase in our income every year? I don't know. So those are my thoughts okay. Well, we we appreciate it. I know it's a very somewhat contentious issue.

How do you how do you think it's going to go? I know the proponents have been working very hard on it. They felt pretty upbeat, but they do have to meet that two thirds threshold. Well, and there's there's so much misinformation out there because quite frankly, there's one vote over 50%. And so I read the report from the county commissioners who met in, I think, March 20th.

So that's not you're saying two thirds. That's not the information we received from Todd Stoll. And, and, and our guests yesterday, they, they said it was a two thirds, threshold. I would love that. But I read I can't remember where it was in the code, but it was over 50%. And so if it's over two thirds, it's better for us.

But okay, I think the big thing is for voters to get out and vote. That's our big thing, is just have people show up at the polls. With that being in May in 2025 versus, you know, a presidential election back in November where a lot of people show up. I think that's our biggest thing, is to get the information out that May 20th to go vote, please.

Okay. All right. Thank you for the call. In your passionate, opinion on this, I think there's a lot to unpack there because, she's referencing a levy correctly. Our interview yesterday said one levy would go away or one charge would go away with the increase of the levy. So there wouldn't it wouldn't be just an additional charge on top.

There would be some replacement. Yes, yes, it's replacement even if it is just a little bit more, it is still a replacement because one charge will go away and then I I'm not. I would have to ask her what she meant by this, but I know they have limitations with their current ambulance because they can only function at a certain level.

That's what this levy does, is that allows them to establish their own entity. So if I'm interpreting what she said, right, she's dissatisfied that they aren't already doing something. I don't think they legally can without the switchover. But maybe I understand it all wrong. If if somebody feels differently about that, I would love to have them text in.

Yeah, yeah. And and that would be that'd be great. So yeah. Yeah yeah. Right. And I like you look at it and I know she talked about $33 million. But when you look at Jefferson County like the population growth in that county has been exploding. And I'm not saying that 33 is too much or too little. I'm just saying no before you vote, whether you think it is don't just go Gasp that's a lot of money.

You've also got a lot of people that have moved in to. So I think there's plenty of people that would still refer to their housing suburbs of, of Rigby, of Jefferson County as rural. You have to know what rural means. You're we're not talking little country home out on. Yeah, ten acres. Like there are massive subdivisions out there.

So make sure you understand the landscape of Jefferson County when you're when you're looking at the figures. Yeah. And I, again, I, I'm, I'm a little, I want to find out hopefully by the end of the hour, if it's a 50 or a two thirds case, we we have directly conflicting information now, the guess that we had in yesterday said it's a two thirds requirement threshold.

Somebody in the know will you text in and just I would imagine they would probably know they've been working on this for years now to try to get it passed. All right. I can send a text to a lawmaker or two and see if we can get an answer. Yeah, we'll we'll just try and find out. Yeah. For you.

So we just want to make sure we get the the correct information out there. And this is not look we have a very, very big coverage area. The creation of an ambulance district in one county is usually not stuff we cover. So we're not terribly well versed into, into answering these questions. Right? Right. But I promise you, our audience will know and we'll get some texts here soon.

I'm sure we will. All right. To 285421279. This is a breaking story, Julie. It is very important. Bill Belichick was on Good Morning America. Well, and he at least he wised up a little bit and did not bring his girlfriend this time. Okay. So Michael Strahan you know they connect from an NFL sports angle here. And he was the one interviewing Bill Belichick.

Here's just a couple of clips been about been made about your relationship with Jordan Hudson. Been getting a lot of attention. She isn't here this morning. But what do you think about all the attention that your relationship has been getting? Yeah, well, she's been terrific, you know, through the whole process. And she's been very helpful to me.

She does the business things that don't relate to North Carolina. To what? What does it mean to you? Well, we have good personal relationship. You know, I'm not talking about personal relationships, Michael. You get that. Okay. There's another word for good personal relationship that's much shorter.

It's a one syllable word problem. It has an X, right? And an e and an S. It. Yeah. And I like that you didn't spell it in order. That's good. I'm trying to help. I'm trying to help those with the young ones in the room. Yeah, I got you all right. Anyway, so that's probably all we're going to talk about Bill Belichick today.

Jake Sullivan we will just jump from one thing to the next here Julie. It's funny how you still have Democrats acting shocked that Joe Biden has dementia and they didn't realize it until 2024. It's frustrating. The ignorance or the feigned ignorance, I should say. Yeah, what happened in that debate was a shock to me. I think it was a shock to everybody.

And I've I've made that point before. Just finally, do you think in retrospect, given everything that's happened, everything we've talked about. Okay, I need to stop there. The rest of it is really pretty inconsequential. He just sort of recused himself from having opinions because of the position he was in. So that doesn't matter. Hey, how was it, Julie, that when I watch that debate, Joe Biden's performance was about what I expected because we watched the news cycle day in, day out, we were seeing a lot of Biden and a lot of coverage of Biden, and I thought, okay, I'm guessing we're going to have that moment when Trump's talking.

He's going to be staring off into, into space somewhere with his mouth half open, just hanging in there, not knowing what's going on. And I watched that. I'm like, that's the Joe I expected. So if that's the Joe I expected, how is it that Andrew Sullivan was shocked? It's basically a coworker or a worker boss concept here.

And you were shocked by that? I watched it, okay, okay. Let's say it's honest. Let's say it's 100% honest. The fact that those two didn't interact more with each other and he didn't see the diminishing of his of his mental capacities. Yeah. Like we're hearing other people are saying they saw. Okay, then he shouldn't have been running the country because you should have been meeting more than that.

Yeah, yeah. No. You're. Well. Yeah. That's true. Neither side is good. I, I will say I just don't believe him. I, I think everybody knew some from day one that there were problems with Joe Biden and they were getting progressively worse as his term went on. They knew it. But they still have to play this cover your rear end game and say things.

So yeah, I was just totally shocked when I saw that debate, know that America was not like we we saw it, but I think what they're the word they're trying to say but not say is we panicked and we realized the election is only what is July to November at four months, it's four months away and we can't cover for this anymore.

We're in trouble. We cannot cover this up anymore. So we need to be shocked at his performance. And we got to do the switcheroo. That's what it was, is they in fact, there are people that said that that the debate was was the deciding factor going into the debate. They said if Joe can have a good performance, he might live to see another day politically.

If not, we've got to do the switcheroo. And then they initiated Operation George Clooney and all of that went down. You see this all the time in everyday relationships. People will be like, okay, I'm kind of at my last straw. I'm going to give this one last ditch effort. If it doesn't work, it's over. That was the relationship between Joe Biden and the Democrat Party.

And the debate was that last shot? Yeah, that last chance. And they went, oh my goodness, we've got to divorce him. You know, I and I'm getting kind of tired of these Democrats that they're just continuing their pattern of lying, gaslighting, covering up whatever it is. I mean, you know, we've had Andrew Sullivan bouncing around for quite a while.

He's not a dumb guy. He's not he he wouldn't be where he's at. So stop insulting our intelligence by saying, I didn't know. I didn't see it. Nobody believes that. Yeah. All right. Next. The next caller. Welcome to the show. Hi. This is this is Dale. Julie, how are you? I'm good. How are you? Good. I'm also calling about the the levee in Jefferson County.

Oh, yes. And there are lots of concerns that some of us have, and most of those have already been mentioned that it is going to be attack. Okay. But over time, is that an increase in your tax bill? There may be one more line item on your tax bill, but if the revenue that they're paying now to Idaho Falls goes away and they are just shifting that and and it's just it's the same money.

But it now goes to your own ambulance service. What's the big deal if it's just another line item. But your tax bill does not increase significantly? Well, it will increase significantly because this levy would generate about a million and a half dollars. And yesterday in your interview with them, they said it was about 800,000 880,000. So there's a lot of extra money there plus the 600,000 that the county's currently paying back into the county's own coffers to be used somewhere else.

And I think the county ought to be buying a new ambulance. Why do a levy and create a whole new district when the county can buy an ambulance. And we can work at alternative rather than just jump into a whole new district, expanding government with new commissioners and other people involved. There's so much information out there not being talked about that it just makes me nervous.

I like things considered and slowly progress to make sure that everything's done properly. Yeah. Okay, so I don't have a dog in this fight, so I'll just tell you what I believe they would answer you based upon our conversation with them yesterday, they could not offer any life saving. Trauma types. Yes. They can't even administer drugs.

So they verified that with this yesterday. They also verified they have plans to get a new ambulance that's already in the works. So they would be increasing to two ambulances with the establishment of the district. What they would be doing is allowing themselves to sever from the contract with, Idaho Falls, but still have a working relationship with them.

And the the trauma care would be, increased, like they would take classes and become full blown paramedics and that they would be able to offer life saving measures, from those two ambulances. So I think that what you're saying is asking about the the one ambulance, they would say back to you, they already have plans to purchase that, and that's already been worked in to the to the amounts.

And then the establishment of this levy is to make sure that they can sever the contract and, and do their own thing. Now out the minute they want to make sure that they are, well, thank you for the call. Appreciate it. Let's go to our next caller. Caller. Go ahead. How are you? Yes. Good. I am I the caller.

You are? Yes. Go ahead. Okay. Thank you. I just, my wife looked into this and found that what it will do is will add $40 per every $100,000 such that you and your home. So, yeah, if you're home above the exempted mount. Yeah. We want to make clear. So. Yeah. Right. Right. So that's I found that out.

So a lot of people don't know that. And that's just basically what I was I was just calling to let you know okay. Well thank you I appreciate that. They did mention the fort. Is that $40 above and beyond what they're paying, or are they going to see taxes go down somewhere else? If I understand the interview correctly, yesterday and we're going off their information, that is the new amount.

But there will be a a decrease in their tax bill on the other line item elsewhere. Yes. Whatever they're expending for the current service that Idaho, the contract with Idaho Falls that goes away even though there's a 40 increase. Oh yes. It's like you've added Netflix but you've canceled Hulu. Yes. Sorry. Yes. Okay. I think that's a great way to explain it.

All right. Here's the issue. Is it would be great to know what somebody is paying. Let's say their their home is valued at $400,000. We'll make it easy. Yeah. So that would be what for. Four times 40 is what that would be. So an extra $160 for the year. Yeah. I would love to know what they're currently paying on their tax assessment for the contract.

Yeah. Is it I mean maybe it's only $80 for the year. And so now you have an extra 80 or maybe it's $100 for the year and you have an extra 60. That's what I would love to know is what somebody who has a $400,000 home is currently paying for the contract. Yeah. Yeah, that's true. And like you said, we really don't have a dog in this fight.

I don't, I don't I don't want to push it one way or. No, I don't neither. This is there. But I do want to get good accurate information out there. And and so we're just we'll wait and see. I have we heard yet if it's, if it's a 50 plus one or I reached out to a lawmaker, they have not answered me.

Okay. Typical lawmakers. Not really. Just kidding. Maybe they just don't have their phone. They might I hopefully they're doing something fun on a Friday. I mean, maybe they're in Hawaii or something. They should be at our disposal ready to respond every text within a minute. All right. We'll be back after this. Oh, we started getting calls and I'm like, oh no, we're going down the Jefferson Ambulance rabbit hole that I don't see any other calls.

Okay, so somebody texted in and said, right now Jefferson County is paying $600,000 to Bonneville County. That was for this year, but they've already been told there will be a 25% increase each year until it reaches, $1 million price tag. So they're holding the contract for 2025. Yeah. And 2026 if it passes, the contract terminates the year of 2027.

Okay. So it would go up by 25% next year. And then that if it passes, that would be the last year they would pay it. Okay. But I don't know how that 600,000 breaks out per year. So long I thought they said it was going to go up as high as a million, 2 or 1 million. And a half or something.

I didn't I thought they said that yesterday. I don't know, someone said it's currently paid from the general County fund, so it would be an increase to your taxes. So okay, so this was our caller. This was Dale who just said it currently it currently paid for the grand or the General County Fund. He said there are other alternatives.

I would love to hear what the other alternatives are. Yeah. Because I will say this. Let's just kind of put the money aside. If you're living in Jefferson County, you want whoever's responding to a car accident or a heart attack to be ready to treat. And I, I if I look at that, I'm like, yeah, I don't like high taxes either.

But if I had a kid in an accident or my wife or me or whatever, I would want the best trained person to be there, to be able to do it. That's how I would feel too. Even if it means I have to pay an extra 30 bucks, 20 or 30 bucks a year, I would do that.

I mean, I just think that that's a it's a proper function of government to be able to do that. Okay. So does Dale mean by this. If it's paid out of the general county fund, it would be up to the county to decrease property taxes to level that out. I'm confused, I don't I see my mind. This shouldn't be hard.

Like it may go up because you have a new ambulance district 40 bucks per 100,000 of assessed value above the exemption. But if you get rid of what you're already paying, that goes away. Then your taxes in the other part should just be reduced. That to me is that's that's I don't want people positioning like I don't want.

And it seems like both sides sometimes sell withhold part of the story. I want the whole story. Tell me what it means for my overall tax bill from one situation to the next. Is that a fair question? I think that that is a fair question. Like bring us a tax bill and say this is so-and-so's tax bill.

They pay this much for the ambulance service this year. Like that's what I want to. Yeah. Oh, for the love of the Pete, we had to do a yes something. Do a timberline. Okay, let's do that. A 930 on Newstalk 107 nine Neal are sitting along Julie Mason. All right, I have some exciting news for you about Timberline home in East Idaho.

They're having a warehouse liquidation sale. If you've been waiting to maybe purchase something. Okay, the wait was worth it, because now this is the time to cash in on the reward of your patience. Because this warehouse liquidation sale is huge. Let me share something with you. Like an example of, one deep discount that's happening. A solid wood dining room set that's six chairs and a table.

It was priced at $3,899. It is now been discounted to $1,299. When I said huge, I meant it's huge. That's deep savings. And there's more deep discounts just like that. The recliners and chairs in stock right now there. Buy one, get one free. So if you needed a couple new recliners for your great room or whatever, now's the perfect time to get it.

It's buy one, get one free of the stock that's in the store. And I have talked with you guys about Z cleaners. Well, I haven't talked with you guys much about sofas so that the Z cleaner is a recliner meant to sleep in a sofa is a two person sofa meant to sleep in. So if you're that person who sleeps better on a couch or in a recliner, make sure you get on down to Timberline Home and ask the questions.

There's. They're made from amazing, breathable fabrics. Better circulation. Zero gravity is available, so if you need to get some better sleep and you always sleep better in a recliner, you need to ask questions about the Z cleaner and the sofa at Timberline Home. And right now they have extended their $300 discount on all Z cleaners and sofas, so make sure you take advantage of that.

711 East Anderson in Idaho Falls. That's the warehouse liquidation sale. Okay. It's at 932 on Newstalk 1079. Let's take one more really quick call. I have a feeling it may be about the, Jefferson County ambulance issues. So caller, go ahead. Thank you. I wanted to clarify. I found the code. It's 31 3911 that says that I'm going down here.

If more than one half of the votes cast are in favor of creating the ambulance service district, the board or boards of county commissioners shall order that such a territory is duly organized as an ambulance service district. So the other clarification was that you guys said that if this levy passes, the other line items will decrease. That is not written in the ballot.

If it was there, I think a lot of us would be thinking, absolutely, but on the ballot, it just said that we will, have a property tax levy not to exceed 400% of market value for assessment purposes. It doesn't mention any decrease anywhere. So legally, I don't think that there has to be a decrease. And so that's our big concern okay.

No, there would be okay. So we know that that expenditure goes away. But that doesn't necessarily translate into reducing the taxes. Then that that money could still be taxed and they could use it. So okay. They could put it somewhere else that that's our understanding. Yes. Okay. All right. Well thank you for the clarification. But I mean I distinctly remember them telling us two thirds yesterday.

So I don't I don't know what to believe. I and I think they would be really the proponents for of it would be really happy that it was just 51%. I think they'd be thrilled. Okay, guess what I heard back from the lawmaker. Okay. The lawmaker is saying it's two thirds. Okay. So it is two thirds. Yes. Okay.

Well, we have a conundrum. The conundrum on our hands. Okay. But I and and no disrespect to our caller. She cited state code. Yeah. But we've had informed guests yesterday who've been working on it that said two thirds. And we I don't think rod, it was Rod Furness. I don't think he's going to care that I say his name.

Yeah. This is his area. Yeah. So yeah. Roger. And it's just clarified that it was two thirds. Okay. So rod furnished us with the clarity. Did he did. Let's let's go to the next caller. Caller go ahead. Hey I've got a I've got a suggestion regarding Jefferson County and the levees. Yeah. I think this would be a great deal for everybody in East Idaho.

We would, if we were to breach some of those levees and, let some of that water spill out with farmers with a bunch of free irrigation, a whole bunch of water would, seep into the ground and help refill the aquifer and to keep those folks up there so busy that we'd see a lot fewer one J plates on the roads and highways would be safer for everybody in East Idaho.

You know, I don't know what it was, but when you began your comments, I sensed there was mischief in your voice. What me means, What? You. I wouldn't do something like that. Yeah. All right, well, you guys have a good weekend. Thank you. I appreciate it. Okay. I've received a really long text. Now I'm getting clarification.

If I can share it on air, if I can, I'll explain some of the things. Okay. I, I'm pretty sure I feel like I can because this has already been made public, so I'm just going to jump off and share it. Go for it. So, Representative Furness wants to remind everybody that, about some, some things to keep in mind.

He said this year the legislature passed more property tax relief to the tune of $100 million. In addition to what was done last year, we also reduced the income tax rate from 5.6 to 5.3%, another tax saving bill that was passed to increase the grocery tax credit to 155 per person in your family. This allows a family of four to get 10,000 a year in tax free food.

And one more thing in Jefferson County, they are currently paying over $650,000 for ambulance services and that will come off of their budget and be part of the ambulance district budget. So that's where the transfer of money will. So they will migrate that they'll migrate the money over. Okay. That and he said that will further reduce the property tax.

All in all you have a total tax bill should be less. Even though we adopt the ambulance district. Okay. Did. And I don't think he did because you shared the contents. But clarify why she read the part of Idaho code that says you need 50 plus one, but this needs two thirds. Maybe, maybe get that. But right now let's take a break.

Okay. Let's do that. And, hopefully we can get more information and and we apologize. Julie and I try to be informed, but we don't know every intricate detail of every ambulance district in our very wide swath of the coverage area. No, we don't, let's go to our next caller, actually, caller. Go ahead. I don't want them waiting.

Go ahead. Caller, how are you? Yes. Neil, this is Carl. Oh, hi, Carl. Are you good? Good. Hey, what kind of questions are coming up about this, ambulance? Yes. So just just for verification. Everything we're doing, we are using Idaho statutes on this. Okay. So so we are we are following Idaho statutes. When we filed for this, ambulance district and the whole nine yards.

Okay, so, Carl, maybe sort this out for us, then. I'm sure you were, or else it couldn't be on the ballot. What? Why is it two thirds? But she cited a portion of Idaho code that says 50%. As you as you read the statutes. 3130 905 as you as you go through and read the statutes, there's different chapters.

So part of the statutes are older statutes that said, this is what, had occurred previously. They rewrote those statutes in 2020. So you have to go down, oh ways to find what it actually says about an ambulance. Yes. Oh, okay. So that was an obsolete provision of the code then. It's been updated. That is possible. I didn't listen to what she had to say.

This. Okay. A person just got to get in and read the statutes, and they got to read the whole statute. Okay? Okay. Well, Carl, thank you. I appreciate your, clarification. And, let's take one, one quick call, but we do have to take a break very soon. Caller. Go ahead. Hello? Hi. Go ahead. So my name is Everett, and I'm calling about the Jefferson County Ambulance District.

One thing I've had is that there was a private company over on the Boise side of the state that started out with two less ambulances, and they grew until they became into they came into the Idaho Falls area. Why can't we just have a private company due to maybe religious services? Because as a private companies, they would provide their own ambulances, you know, provide their own buildings.

They would provide all the stuff we would have to pay them, if we'd have to pay them a little bit so that we could use them to be the ambulance service. Well, why can't we just have a private company? Yeah. Instead of on these new taxes. Okay, Everett, those are all great questions, and I appreciate it. Neither Julie nor I have the expertise to answer those questions, so I, I, I'm actually we're going to go to break I'm going to actually look it up.

But I do believe the charges for a private ambulance end up increasing all of the time, because when it is a, county funded ambulance service, they do often more than half of their transports don't get paid. Oh, because you're transporting indigent people and, and and so I think the costs are higher with private. But I'm going to verify that.

Okay. Got him. All right, Everett, thank you for the call. And thank thank you. As a young person being engaged, being so I think it's great. Yes. Yeah. Okay. We'll be back. It's 941 on Newstalk 179. All right. I'm calling a lid on the Jefferson County Ambulance topic. Is that okay? That's fine. I know you can. If you have something to clarify, we can I can clarify the private because that might actually because that affects everybody.

Yeah. I mean this is a question that's asked all the time in cities that why do we why do we spend so much money on these services if it can be privatized. So I've got four pros and four cons. So okay we can go over them if you want. Can we do I really fast. I'll do it really fast okay.

Yeah. There's bullet points. We don't even have to. Okay. Again. Yeah. Let's do a really fast Grand peaks when we come back do that and then we'll take a, take a break. Or people come.

Well we're in the 11th hour. It is Friday at 942. No, no I'm saying what I'm saying is I'm fine, I, I'm fine, I just my radio programmers brain is going nuts right now. Yes. Yeah. Because we're covering an issue that's this big, very intense. And our coverage area is this big. So yes, it's a, it's just a, and sometimes you hit one of those hot buttons.

It's very, very localized. Yes. And it so we've hit it. We're there. We we have so oh that's another great point. If, if it's a private ambulance and they come to in an auto accident, if they're called and then they decide not to transport you, they still charge you for the services provided. If it's a county ambulance, they do not charge unless they transport.

Okay. So their problems. But yeah. Yeah. I mean there's there's great things too. But there are it's not roses and unicorns. There's scenarios that may not work out. Yes. You know what? Here's the thing. I don't think it passes if it's two thirds. Oh, that's so hard to get. It is super hard. Two thirds is so hard to get.

Which is why it's weird. We've had this conversation because if the if it was 51%, these guys would have that we interviewed yesterday would have been doing cartwheels. Yeah. They would be thrilled with the 51%. Yeah. Yep. Are we done with the rain. Is it going to be a nice afternoon I don't know here I'm looking at up okay I'm going to find some good news I know Michael's on here Michael.

Are we done with the rain? And Michael, did my tomatoes make it last night? Oh, oh, oh, we're not done with the rain, but lucky us. Wind at the 3 p.m. 4 p.m. hour. So rain and wind. Great. Yep. And rain tomorrow. Okay. Right. Let's hear it for springtime. Yeah. Okay. Michael just said no. So does that mean a universal no?

Your tomatoes are dead. We're not done with the rain. What was my question? You asked if your tomatoes were dead or are they okay? What what question was the answering? I mean, I think you phrased it like, did I kill my tomatoes? Okay, okay. I hope that's it. He says, no, we're not done. Another storm is on the way.

And yes, your tomatoes should have been fine last night. Okay, good. There we go. Yeah, I worried because I, I went out to my car and I'm like, well, actually, what happened is I unlocked it remotely. And then when I went to open it, it it stuck a little. Stuck because there was a little bit of rain, a little bit of frost and whatever.

And I'm like, did we freeze? And then I looked on the top car and sure enough, there was frost there. And I'm like, I can't tell you. This person could not see out of their windshield. I'm wondering if they had, like, their sprinklers on. And so it was creating extra mist that was freezing. Yeah, it could be. 947 on Newstalk 1079 Julia I don't know for sure what I'm eating over the weekend.

I do know this. It will be loaded with protein and it will be from Grand Peak's Prime Meats. It may be a hot dog that I grill or a brought. It might be something in the crock pot like French dip or honey sesame chicken. It might be ribs. It might just be a good old fashioned steak. It might be a flavored hamburger patty, like a jalapeno and cheese as that was one.

And so I'm not sure yet. Like my my mind is very, very open, but I just know I'm going to be, caveman this week. I'm saying hot dogs or brats, one or the other. That's what I'm saying. Okay. Yeah, because I'm a brat. That's why you think I should have. I said brought, okay. Okay. Yeah. Anyway, Prime meats.com, you can get the grilling package on there and many other cuts of high quality meat.

They're great friends of ours. They should be great friends of yours. Yeah. Okay, let's go to the phones. Okay. Can I just say one thing? We've talked a lot about the Jeffersons. We usually don't covered this in detail. So if you are calling about this, I'm going to ask you to keep your comments very concise and very brief.

Okay? We we really don't have the latitude to go into great detail, but we don't want to abandon open Line Friday. So let's go to the caller. Caller go ahead really fast. If it's about Jefferson County, go ahead. The Jefferson County property tax levy will add a 12th tax line to Jefferson County. Right now we have 11 tax lines.

This will add a 12th county tax line. It will not be a tax that just goes off into laurel land. Just like in November general election where President Trump was the popular vote. Not because you're between three points, not because of his three wives, but because the voters voted for something different. Your no vote on May 20th is not a no to services.

This is no to unstable government. It is a no to government. Without accountability. It is no to allow another tax levy on your home service service that that already brings in a revenue like ambulances. Thank you very much. Right. Thank you for the call. Caller go ahead. How are you? I'm fine. I just, along with your state and all that good stuff.

I would really like some popcorn if they can tell me where I could get some nice river. Yes. This is my Aunt Shirley, by the way. Yes. And truly, I will tell you, I actually haven't even talked about this on the air at all, so I'll, I'll I'll text it to you. Okay? Yes. All right. Thank you.

Thank you for the call. And, Yeah. How much did you pay her? I didn't pay her anything. I think she saw it online. I'm sure she. Yeah. Yeah, I'm sure she did. And I have no idea why. But my family, some of my family loves me. And some not so much. But, you know. Well, there's good ones like Shirley.

Yeah, she's a good she's a she's a good egg. She loves me despite me. So she'll get free popcorn. (208) 542-1079 why am I blushing I don't know, I don't know why I'm blushing. Yeah, I have no idea. I have no idea. Okay, let's talk about, town and Country Gardens. Julie. Okay. This rain is good for our lawns.

And so is the four step lawn program. Yes, it is, and, it's. My lawn is green. I haven't driven past your house, but you swear your lawn is green also? Yeah. I took a picture of my, massive lilac bushes and sent it to my daughters. Yeah. And and they were like, the grass is so green.

Well, she does live in Arizona, so nothing screen. But she was like oh my gosh it's so pretty. And I that's what you get when you use the four step lawn program at Town and Country Gardens. And the thing is it's so easy. Like a lot of times people gardening is feels like a mystery. That's really complex. This is really easy.

You just do the four steps according to the sheet that tells you what dates to put it on. And the math is really easy how much you need to spread it on your lawn, and then all you do is you water and mow like normal and you have a beautiful lawn. Yep. Town and country garden south of Idaho Falls, across from the malting plant.

Stop and tell them hi. Enjoy your stay there because you're going to want to stay more than 3 or 4 minutes. It is a beautiful visit. Yep. All right. We'll be back after this. On Newstalk 1079. Okay. Michael says you're probably going to need to pull in your tomato plants tomorrow. Okay? During the day, we have a real strong chance of a hailstorm.

Oh, not freeze but a hailstorm. Okay. Yes. So under the deck probably. Yeah I have a nice covered deck. Just put it there. Yeah. Okay. All right I'm going to say it James. Here's the popcorn thing Neil makes really great I call it sweet and salty popcorn. Yum. Whatever you want to call it. What do you call kettle corn though.

It's just it's its own thing. It doesn't really have a category. It's just it's really tasty. And, he started looking around. He's been thinking about starting this business for a while. Went down to Utah, bought an industrial paper, and he has started the snake River Popcorn Company. And if you want more information, go to his personal Facebook page here.

And please go follow his Facebook page for snake River popcorn. That would be helpful as well, because it's nice to grow that page. And, you can order popcorn online from him. Yeah, local delivery as well. Yes. Yeah. We had a we had a good we you know, it's weird sometimes you just gotta go forward with things. And I have spent like a month and a half building a website, creating the logo, getting the LLC, just putting it all together.

And I found I was finding these excuses to delay launching it. So and finally, I'm like, you know what? I have the website we can make popcorn real quick. We've got enough in place. And I'm like, I'm just doing it. So I made a Facebook post and then I started inviting all my friends to, on Facebook to, to like it.

And we've had a really good we're up to like 350 followers so far just in day two. So did I count that as a win? So. So there you go. That's the popcorn thing. Yes that is the popcorn thing. So yeah, it's tasty. I've had it multiple times. People do seem to like it. And it was a mistake.

It's great. Sometimes mistakes turn into the best. This is the this is the thought process. I did a We Share podcast. It was the grandson of the owner of the holiday, convenience stores in Utah. Yeah. That that grandfather told his grandson. Just move, just move. Because sometimes the mistakes you make turn into the biggest results. Don't sit stagnant.

Yeah, try. Just go do things well. And and there we will get hits. You'll have misses, but you will get hits. You know, it's funny because you had people like Mitt Romney and others that were talking about how many bankruptcies Donald Trump has had. Yeah, he's had some. That's because look at the speed he moves. He he fails faster.

And the successes are found in between your failures. So yeah, he's had some bankruptcies, but he's had massive success too. Yeah. So it's just a it's a different philosophy. I mean think of a really silly thing like let's say pickleball and you're like, I can't play pickleball. I'm not even a try. I would look so stupid. Well, you don't know, you don't know, you don't try.

No. You might be really great at pickleball or I mean, just pick anything and just move. Just start. Yeah. Yep. So. And that's actually I wish I were more like that. I'm. I can be hesitant and I can wait, like, you're like, you want to make sure this turns out okay, and I have to fight that impulse and just say, just get started.

Be willing to fail. Be willing to make mistakes and see what happens. Yeah, okay. I'm going to do this. And then once I get this. Very good. Okay, okay.
