The Neal Larson Show
12.13.2024--NLS--College Ball and Christmas Cheer
Neal and Julie talk about college basketball's new superstar, A.J. Dybantsa. Still in his teens, the top recruit in the Class of 2025 and potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft is heading to BYU and stands to make at least $7 million his first year playing in the NCAA.
Neal and Julie discuss the landscape of college ball changing to fill the gap the NBA is leaving as far as competitiveness and player's love of the game goes. Other factors like allowing players to make financial gains and the draft portal are making huge changes in team composition and player motivation.
Neal and Julie have Bonneville High School's top acapella singers to do a studio 4 Christmas cover.

Oh, Julie, I think I see snowflakes. Oh, I see you. Do you see those snowflakes? Yeah, yeah. Madge, do I think so? Yeah. Hold on one second. There. Welcome, everyone. Oh, you gotta let this play out. But that's okay. So I was going to say. Yeah, and I'll talk really loud over the music, but we were both of us were on local news eight yesterday and the noon broadcast talking with Jeff Roper and I begged him to make snow happen.
Maybe I got my wish. I'm going to remain silent right now because you know how I feel about. I have to drive this weekend. I do have to drive. And it is supposed to be really snowy Saturday and Sunday. Yeah. Yeah, I know, so anyway, we'll we'll see how it all all plays out. Although I think it's going to get up to about 40 tomorrow.
3940. So I don't know how much the snow is going to stick. Not to disappoint you back, but I don't know. Okay. Well, we'll just see how it goes. If we get enough, it'll over. It won't matter, you know? But, anyway. So, Julie, we we got a big day today, and just about a half an hour, we're going to be treated to a studio for cover.
Sean to son, Apollo six will be in seek, singing some acapella Christmas music for us. And, that's always exciting. And then at 11:00 today, you and I, we're headed off to Brolin's in Amman, where, of course, the Miracle box is there to help people. Very conveniently and easily provide charity to local people that are in need.
And there's a lot of different options here. You can buy diapers for, moms that need them for their babies. You can buy Tide pods, not for eating, but for those. Yes, they're they're not edible, by the way. We also have a couple of families that are in need that have had some big health challenges. That's part of this.
It's basically a vending machine that you swipe your card and instead of getting, a soda or a candy bar or a snack, you're actually that money is actually going to the people who need it 100%. Every dime that you donate will go to those people because, this this foundation is actually covering all of the administrative costs of this.
So they don't they don't pull from it. So wonderful. But there's another layer you just explained that was enough right there to give. Yes. Everything you just said was enough to give. We've got an added layer to this. So several Christmases we've joined with Mark Radford from Colby off road to give to to people just locally to help their Christmases be a little bit better.
He's been very generous today, and he is going to do a match donation for whatever happens for that hour while we're there. So if you come and you buy $25 worth of diapers for a mother, yeah, another $25 worth of diapers will be purchased, that we'll go to another mother. But it doesn't end there. We also have, through the Miracle Box, another sponsor who was set up to match.
Today. That's Inner West Mortgage, that's a locally owned company as well, and they're going to match. So if I bought that $25 worth of diapers, Mark Radford is going to match $25 worth of diapers. And then Inter West Mortgage is going to match $25 worth of diapers. Yeah. So wonderful. Yeah it is. It's going to be going to be great.
We're going to try to raise as much as we can for this. Absolutely. So swing by. And what's interesting is we weren't even aware that the Miracle box people were actually setting up these matches when we got, Mark Radford from Colby off road to do the match. So that's how this multiple match layer thing has happened yet.
But it's a good way. It's so awesome that our community is that giving. Very generous. So we just stumbled into another match because there's another local company that is so willing to give. Yeah. You live in a great place. It's all it's all it's all good. Okay. Julie, the drones there, the drones, they're they're everywhere. And and I don't mean they're not drones are cats, and they're not eating the dogs, but they're everywhere.
It's true. They're not yet eating the cats and the dogs and the pets in Cleveland or wherever. But, however the story, it's starting to be a bigger story nationally. You had it in your ABC news read this morning, and now the white House is taking questions on a repeated basis about this. And the answers are very, very weird.
They're just John Kirby's body language is just weird. When he's answering these questions about the drones, I felt like I was so evasive. I he's choosing his words very carefully. We've mentioned before that John Kirby is so much better at the podium than Karine Jean-Pierre, and we always preferred John Kirby to be the one answering the questions.
Well, he's acting like Karine Jean-Pierre here. He's stumbling over his words. He's he's being a little bit evasive. He's saying, oh, you know anything?
Like, he might as well just made those noises. He's not John Kirby, he's Jean-Pierre Kirby. Maybe. So here's Jacqui Heinrich. She's asking the questions, about these drones. And here, listen to how cautious he's trying to answer these questions. The imagery or video of these systems. I'm not aware that we have U.S. government, produced, imagery ourselves.
But as I said in my opening statement, we have certainly, done thorough analysis of the existing imagery, like from those cell phones that we're seeing. Basically, with what you're looking at, how can you tell people that there is no public safety threat, there's no national security threat, that there's no reason to believe a foreign government is involved?
Because the analysis thus far and an investigation that is ongoing has not revealed any national security or malicious intent or criminal activity. But, Jacqui, I would remind you, we're at the beginning here, not the end. There's a lot more work to be done. And then why doesn't if they're just at the beginning? But these drones keep showing up every night, most nights.
And why is why does there not seem to be a sense of urgency to to take one of these down, to get to the bottom of this, to figure it out? It's just weird. The posture that they're having, because in other contexts the government is very, very vigilant and selfish about the airspace. And he does say we're just at the beginning as if it happened last night.
Yeah, this is multiple nights. It's just finally created enough. National attention that John Kirby is having to address it. You've got it on all of the media now. Even just yesterday, I said, I think there's people in average middle America that probably don't know about this story yet, but they're going to want to know. Yes. So this isn't breaking news.
These drones, they've been talking about these drones. It's got to be close to five days. Well, Jacqui Heinrich later in this, she said when this all started, it was late November. So we're two weeks into this at least. So I don't like his his. Well, we're at the beginning of this, Jacqui. No we're not. Yeah. You're just at the hottest point of it right now.
The heat has been turned up on you. Yeah. So don't don't equate the heat being turned up on you as the beginning point of this. The people in new Jersey have been frustrated about this for days. That. Well yeah. Yeah. And nobody really cares if it's a consumer hobby drone. These are drones that are not consumer hobby drones.
Like there's some money behind it. There's something bigger behind these drones. They had pictures of the drones on Fox News this morning. I've repeatedly heard them to be described as in with and everything, like the size of a car hood. But the ones that they were showing this morning far bigger than that. And they believe those are the ones that are being flown in the air.
So it's even a little bit more concerning for the size and the, I don't know, the sophistication of these drones than what was initially thought. Yeah, yeah. So we'll we'll see. I don't think it's aliens, but we'll see. Yeah. Julie, last hour we ended the hour talking about the aged to ban a story out of BYU. Young man, incredibly talented.
We watched a highlight video yesterday and you can see why he's he's going to be in the NBA. But there's a rule that you can't you can't go into the NBA straight out of high school. You have to wait at least a year. So he's like, I'll go to college. Well he's going to he's going to cash in.
He's going to make $7 million at least 7 million in name, image, likeness money to play one year for BYU. No intention whatsoever of getting a college degree. The academic part of it is, and he'll have to enroll and, you know, because you have to. But there's no student athlete. There's no there's no student in the student athlete in this case.
He's he's just going jumping through the hoops, no pun intended. But, what do you think of this? It feels more like a, a mini pro league. And I think that's what this situation is doing with college basketball. I actually like that you pointed it out that it's at a minimum 7 million, because that's what's been promised to him by Rich Mormons.
I there's no other way to say it. Rich Mormons have coughed up this money. They owned big companies there. And the total amount for his nil right now is 7 million. If he has good games and a relatively good season, that amount goes up. Yes, it absolutely goes up. Yeah. And, he has ingratiated himself into the Utah culture.
So I can see why he chose this school over the ones that were on his short list. He left mass. It was Massachusetts, right. He left Massachusetts. Yeah. Came to, southern Utah. He's been playing for Utah Prep. He's already earned money through that. And now he's like, not just not just a few thousand, like $600,000. High six figures already as a high school athlete.
And now he's going to move on and make, at a minimum, $7 million. That's crazy. That's stupid money at 19. That is crazy. And hopefully he'll be smart with it. I guess. His parents are incredibly engaged in his basketball career. And like, his dad is his manager. Like, that's the full time thing because, you know, obviously the kid has talent and and promise and, and he's worth a lot.
It just I, I don't know I don't know who I'm faulting in this though, because this is the way college basketball is now. You can pay college athletes the kind of money that you know, what I saw I saw was this the same? No, this was a different video. He's going to actually make more as a high as a as a college basketball player than most of the first year.
NBA picks are like the low draft picks. Yes, the lower draft picks. Yeah, they might make low millions, like 4 or 5, 6 million. He's going to make 7 million playing basketball for BYU. Like it just is. And probably more because I if you haven't been near Provo Lehigh area recently, the amount of money in that area.
Oh it's nuts. It's yeah it's just crazy. So that number is going to go up now I will say the highlight reel that we watched, which was how low was it. 6 or 7 minutes long. Yeah. And it was just dunk after dunk after dunk for the first 3 to 4 minutes. There's some good things about this player.
He's not he's not reached his physical right yet. He's got to put on some weight. So he still kind of looks like a young man. So he's got that portion of turning into a man. So that's going to play well for BYU because they're going to get him right in the weight room. Like that's going to happen right off the top.
That entire highlight reel that we watched, we didn't see him back like a punk once. No he seems like a stand up kid. Yeah. So I mean if you if you're looking at 7 million and going, oh, gun's going to be a brat, bla bla, we didn't get that in this real that we watched. I mean, I'm, it's seven minutes of his life.
So yeah. Any way there could be anything out there. But we weren't seeing that. I'll add to this little plug for private schools in Massachusetts. The high school that he played for, there was, I think, a Catholic school, Saint Mary's or Saint John's or something like that. And, so I think he's been taught very well to, to be respectful, to be disciplined to, you know, he's had that that structure in his life.
So yeah, I, I, I, you know, if you're going to give us seven the 17 right now anyway. Yeah. You know season 17 or 18 because he's in his senior year and somebody just texted in it's all college sports Neal. Oh I never said it wasn't I, I you're right I, I'm glad these college athletes are getting something of a cut from the revenue they are generating.
They're the ones that are working hard. They're the ones that are developing the skills there. That and you know, you look at especially at some of these big time colleges, the gazillions of dollars that they are pulling in and their product, this basketball team in past years, they're just playing for a scholarship to get through college like that seems out of balance.
And yeah, they get their college paid for, but they're making other people millions of dollars. And so did I. I don't have a problem with with athletes making a portion of this, but at the same time, I'm torn because I feel like you're kind of turning them into quasi pro leagues at that point. Yeah. And I don't like that.
I don't love it either, but I think it is happening for a couple of reasons. I think it's happening because the NBA is failing. I people are yearning for what the NBA used to be, and a college basketball is filling that void. But at what detriment? Yeah. At what what damage is going to be done to college basketball because they're filling the void that the NBA has created because the league has gone to a place that nobody appreciates.
Yes. Yeah. Yeah I, I don't know. We did get a tongue in cheek text that's really hilarious that says, this young man has now become the church's highest paid employee.
That's funny. It is funny. It's it's good, you know, and you, you combine the Nil deals that these athletes get with the transfer portal. It. Yeah. You know, that's why I think we need transfer portal reform in college athletics. Yeah. It is frustrating to see, just a revolving door now that that is college athletes. You.
And maybe you know what? Maybe we're fuddy duddy, and we're like, we we just like things the way they used to. Way. Yeah, yeah. So there's probably a little bit of that. Yeah. I'm going to tell you though, the old NBA, NBA was way better than the new NBA. Well and given the ratings that they've had recently, which is a perfect segue into LeBron James.
Yeah it's Sports Hour here. Yes it is. Well this is bigger than sports with LeBron. But he is taking a break from the LA Lakers. We don't know what that means I mean you'd think I think it's presented like it's a pause. But I don't know that it's a pause when he may have worn the Lakers uniform for the last time.
He's attending to some personal matters. Is that what that's what's being said. It's not even being classified to the players at the Lakers because the the statement that was given to them by the coach was pretty vague. Yeah, it might be much more specific in closed door meetings, but the one that was available for everybody to hear, was really vague about where he is and what he's doing, but he's got all this complication.
There's a lot of people that have linked him to P Diddy, and it hasn't gone well with Bronny, and maybe that was his only goal was to play a few minutes on the floor in the NBA with Bronny. And and that's been accomplished. And maybe he's out. Yeah, maybe. So because he, you know, he's he's broken a bunch of records and, well, if you want to go down the conspiracy avenue, we do know that LeBron James attended not just one, but multiple Diddy parties like he he was a regular at the Diddy parties and, he's getting some heat for that now as he should.
Yes he should. And here's one fan heckling LeBron, who's sitting up in a box at some athletic event. Yeah. You gotta we know he was at the 31. Well he starts out saying rah rah rah bruh. We know you want that to be anybody. Oh we know you was there. You gotta we know you was at the 31 okay.
So there's sort of this rising attention focused on this. Not just Diddy but Jay-Z and other other celebrities. It, and if you, if we keep going down this rabbit hole, did the Lakers and LeBron say, look, if you're at these Diddy parties and things happened that are horrendous, we don't we don't want you affiliated with our brand.
Yeah. Maybe maybe or maybe they've been told by the FBI if you want if you want to create some distance between you and LeBron, now's the time because this is all going to go down. Yes. Yeah. All right. Let's go to the phones I believe we have Representative Barbie Hart calling in. And Barb, how are you? Hey, guys.
I'm just doing fantastic. Thank you very much. Just, listening to just listen, you know, when I call in, it's always seems to be about politics, but now you're hitting on something that's very near and dear to my heart. That's basketball and college basketball, to be specific. And I have some strong feelings on Nil and of course the transfer portal.
But I just want to remind everyone, and I've had this conversation with a lot of people, as they say, hey, look at all these, these students are doing as far as making money for, for the, you know, the schools and that and just remember, I mean, there are some people like AG sure that that are going to come in with a huge reputation, but most of the time, most of the time these athletes go to the schools and they're going to the schools because they already have a reputation.
And then those schools, through just their student body, through their marketing, through the the teams that they play to the fact that they're Michigan or Duke. And so they're going to be on ABC and NBC. These schools do for that student athlete as much before the student, they do for the student athlete as much and more, in my opinion, before that student athlete ever does, for the school.
And so the schools make that student athlete as much as a student athlete makes the school. Now, also remember, when it comes to the Nil, we're talking very few kids. I mean, even even as far as the money made it, it was very few kids. And you've got like you'll have at the school 20 other programs that are a flagship program that are just there being your normal student athlete, my strong opinion is denial is going to ruin college athletes.
And certainly the transfer portal. There's one other side. I know you don't have a lot of time, but the transfer portal, you guys, you take schools like I don't state women's basketball. They had been doing a fantastic job, but they relied on building a program and now they can't do that. The transfer portal is the big schools are going to be fine.
It's going to kill the smaller schools. And that's disappointing. Yeah. And I would agree with you, Barb. Thank you so much. We appreciate it so much more we could talk about. But we are up against the clock. Got to break away. It's 828. We'll be back after this. All right. Which is okay a little long. We'll come back.
Let's just do it fast. I was so excited because she said she was going to be at girl. Like I said, we are so chat about nine. And she said, oh, so. And then she said sorry I had her I have no idea. Yeah. You know what? Can we take him right now? I yeah, let's go. And then oh you march.
Oh march. So yes. Yeah. We've got. Yeah. Is it okay if we do this pretty question. Are they warming up. Yeah. Sorry. What do I do? Well, just, we'll just ask you about your match at Rollins today. Yeah, I heard yeah, I think it sounds like the other thing has canceled the dinner for the to purchase more things.
But whatever. Apparently they have enough to. 832 on Newstalk 107 nine minutes away, we've got our studio for cover with Sean Tucson, Apollo six Julie singing some acapella. But right now we want to welcome a very good what that made it sound like I was going to be singing oh no, no, no, I'm not going to be singing.
You guys should, I said Sean, you really threw it to me. And you said Julie singing acapella. Oh okay. I'm like, no, no, it's not missing acapella. Anybody wants to hear me, I gotcha. Yeah, let's make that very clear. We want to maintain our audience here. And so, but joining us is our good friend Mark Radford from Colby off road.
And Mark, we love it when you come to the studio in December, because it's always a always good for others, needing some charity. And, you've stepped up again this year. Yeah. Yeah. Well stepped up to do the match donations over at Brahms and we're excited about that. Yeah. So today from 11 to noon and you're going to join us.
We weren't quite sure if you're going to do do that, but you're going to join us today from 11 to noon. And we're going to keep track of everyone coming in and how much they donate. And at the end of that, you're going to cut a check to match that amount. Yes, sir. Okay. Yep. That's what the what the plan is.
So we encourage everybody to come out and be a part of this. You know, there's a lot of people that have big needs, this time of the year, I think especially this year, there's a lot of needs out there, you know. And so, yeah, we would encourage you everybody be a part of this. It's makes makes Christmas for all the better.
Yeah for sure. Yeah. Super easy. It's a vending machine. So it's not a complicated way to give. And it's guaranteed that all of your money goes to whatever you're donating to. So if you purchase like I'm looking right here, there's hygiene kits that you can purchase for $12. So if you purchase that, Mark will throw an additional $12 in there to, purchase another hygiene kit.
And then two people get to appreciate that. And there's nothing taken off the top of that. It's 100% donation. Yeah, such a great thing. And Mark, we did find out that the Miracle Box actually has a, a matching program already. So Inter West Mortgage is matching today's donation. So actually it will be our listeners. You're going to double it in a West mortgage will triple it.
So it's it's going to be a very very big day for them. Fabulous. You know I keep I keep wishing that there was drones would come over and help us with the Christmas stuff too, you know. Yeah, I wish it I wish they'd show up and help us out. But, yeah, maybe the aliens aren't going to help us.
This, this go around. They're only on the East Coast right now. But, you know, they may make their way here. Every gun owners on this side. Yeah. Yeah. Right. All right. So, Mark, we'll see you at 11. And Mark Bradford from Colby Road joining us this morning and doubling everyone's match. So we'll see you there. We we hope to see you there as well.
We hope everybody shows up and, participates in this expecting a nice big crowd there. All right. Big thank you, Mark. Big thank you. All right. It's 835 when we come back. Studio four covers with Sean to Sin. Apollo six on Newstalk 179.
843 on Newstalk 179, Neal Our Sin along with Julie Mason on this Friday morning and as we do every Friday morning, it is studio four covers and we're super excited this morning to have a couple of, well, singing groups from Bonneville High School, Sean Thomas and Apollo six, and there's a bunch of kids in here right now as students, I should say.
But we have Gwen and Addie. Okay, Gwen and Addie, go ahead and step up to the mic. Tell us, tell us about your groups. We're so happy to have you here today. So we're Sean twos and Apollo six. Sean Twos is the girls quartet. And then there's six guys that make up Apollo six. And together with Apollo, we just sing music together, and we're, selected from our, high level audition.
Mixed choir from Bonneville. Okay. And you guys perform around the community quite a bit. That's right. Yeah, yeah. Tell us about you have some upcoming performances, too. If people want to see you. Yes. Our, our concert is on Monday, our Christmas concert at the Hillcrest Performing Arts Center. Our pre-show starts at 710, and the concert will start at 730.
Okay, now, when we have artists in here at 830, it's almost 845. Now. Most of them say it's a little early to sing. Are you guys used to singing this time of the morning? Yes. Okay. You kind of probably have to as school and all of that. So. All right. Well we're very excited to have you. And, you're going to be performing a Christmas medley, a childhood Christmas songs put together by Jamie Ray.
Okay. All right. Go ahead. Will lift that mic a little bit, and you guys can take it away whenever you're ready. But is thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump. Oh, frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul with the corn corner. My nose that was made out on wall. Oh, Frosty the snowman was a fairy tale.
They say he was made of snow. And the children know how he came to life one day. There must have been some magic in that world. Still can't. They found four and they placed it on his head. He began to dance around. Oh, you better watch out. You better not cry. You got him all puffed up telling you, I says, A Claus is coming to town.
He's making a list and checking it twice. He's gonna find out who's naughty and nice. Santa Claus is coming to town. He sees you when you're sleeping. And he knows when you're awake. He knows if you've been bad or good. So be good, for goodness sake. Oh, you better watch out. You better not cry. You better not pout.
I'm telling you why Santa Claus is coming. You do. Santa Claus is coming. You know Santa Claus is coming. Oh, Dasher and dancer and writer and actor. Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen. What do you recall? The most famous reindeer of all? Rudolph the Red-Nosed reindeer, had a very shiny nose. And if you ever saw it, you would even say it glows.
All of the other engines you used to love and call him names. They never once wore it. Oh, don't join in any reindeer games. And one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa came to say. Rudolph, with your nose so bright you won't you guide my sleigh tonight. Then hold the reindeer until the day. As I shout it out with glee.
Rudolph the red nose made off the red nosed reindeer. You go down in here. Down is the story. Should. He is comin to town. Doot doot doot. One game that was so great it shone twice. Apollo six, also known as Apollo, is that. Is that right? You. You young people did a wonderful job this morning. Thank you so much.
And tell us your performance again at Hillcrest. The details of that. Go ahead. It's Monday the 16th at the Hillcrest Performing Arts Center. Pre-show starts at 710. Concert starts at 730. All right. Thank you for bringing Christmas cheer to us today. Appreciate it. All right. It's 848 now on Newstalk 1079.
Eight 853 now on Newstalk 107I Neal Larsen along with Julie Mason and so fun to have Apollo aka Sean to and Apollo six in for this morning's studio four cover. It's sort of like, J-Lo and Ben. Bennifer or not. Ben, you know. Anyway, it but it's it. They probably don't appreciate that. No, they were way higher class than that.
But Apollo was fantastic this morning. They were these were great kids. I want to sometimes I love to get a little behind the scenes for the listeners. They were like, so when I went to get them out of the the conference room, they're laughing with each other. Good. That made me so happy. These kids like singing with each other and plus wicked talented.
So combine those two things and you get something great like we just had. And they didn't really seem all that nervous at all. Yeah, they did good. Anyway, nice job Apollo. And thanks to the Bonneville Choir program for providing this long time program run by, we should say, Steve Drazan. Yeah. And he's done a great job there. Tons of success with that Cray choir program at Bonneville.
So well done. Yeah, yeah, we should do it three times a week. Okay. Julie's like, no, I love the break. Yes, I it'll be harder to get that many people in three times a week. I love the break. I'm I'm teasing more than, more than anything, but, Okay. Back to politics. Pete. Hey, Pete Hegseth, walking through the corridors of the Capitol gets asked about a CNN report by a reporter, and he responds the best way possible.
Listen, can you just respond to the CNN report this morning? It was highlighting some of your previous comments. I don't feel the need to respond to CNN. Okay. If you are comfortable with gay people openly serving, did you hear what I said there every day she's trying to go another round. He's like, did you not hear what I said?
Right. I'm not responding to media generated narratives. Yeah, as a exactly what he should say. This man has been pummeled since he was announced. Like mockery. They won't even acknowledge what he's done with his life. They keep referring to him as a weekend host on Fox News, as if that's some, like, like, little pittance that he accomplished.
Now, that's a big deal. Yeah, yeah, but obviously it's not the only thing he does. He's done because he's very qualified for this position. And for those people pummeling him with all of these accusations, they're definitely not clean in their lives. Oh no. No, not at all. And and furthermore, I know there were these accusations of infidelity. But if you look at Pete, his life, he really, he's become a very devoted Christian.
And if if you're a Christian or you say you're a Christian, you have to believe that there's redemption for people who make mistakes in their life. And so but that doesn't seem to be taken over this, this process here, probably because it's so incredibly prevalent in the Washington establishment. It's really hard for them to to go after that.
We talked about, a little bit. I had sent you a story about how for people on the left, they don't really care who they take down. The goal is just to take down as many as possible. Yeah. So that's why they're they're trying to pummel Tulsi Gabbard, which has almost a flawless personal life. Yeah. So they're having to go after these little bitty things that she did in her public service, which is so embarrassing for them.
But they're going to do anything to take down one or more of the nominees. There is a clip, Julie, that you sent of Jen, Jen Psaki just doing a like an Instagram selfie or something. And she talked about she said the quiet part out loud. She said, why don't you take down one of these. Then that opens the door to take down more of it.
That's their only strategy. They're not examining these nominees one by one to see if they're qualified or not, and then making a decision. They want to take out as many of them as possible. And I think you become so entrenched in that mindset and that way of operating, you don't even notice that you're doing it anymore. Well, it's part of your offense, right?
And they've done it in other things. A look at what they did to Kavanaugh. Yeah. And how we conveniently forgot about it and forgave them immediately. It's time to stop with the forgiving. This kind of behavior and this treatment of individuals should not be happening. Did you see in the last 30s we have here that John Fetterman met with Elise Stefanik and says he's leaning towards supporting her?
And so some of these nominees may get some Democrat votes. I think it's great. That's great. All right. That's our one on Newstalk 179. If you'd like to reach us. You can on the fall River propane, call and text line 208542 179. That's 20854 207 nine back after the news, Rubio is going to be secretary of state.
It looks like Lara Trump is going to be the senator from. Yeah. So that's a fascinating shuffle because a lot of people thought, excuse me, that it was going to be Matt Gaetz. You and Kamala. I know what that means. Diet Pepsi not Jack did I did see him crack that soda. So he's not added anything extra to it.
Yeah. Now, I don't know when a soda comes from his office. What's in it? Here we go.
Okay, we we are back. (208) 542-1079. It's Neal Larson along with Julie Mason. And, if you'd like to join us on the fall River propane Collin text line, that number is (208)542-1079. Learning new things. Never figured out what you did to. So I get it. Totally get it. Yes. Okay, okay. All right. We're here. We're all here. It's Friday.
Julie, we've had a lot going on from, studio four covers to problems later today at the Miracle Box. We're going to try to raise as much money as we can in one hour, where we have two layers of matching dollars. So every dollar someone donates, it's actually three bucks. You donate 100 bucks, you're donating 300. It's it's great.
Right. So somebody sent in a text and said, I don't even want to get involved with the machine if I just drop off some money. Can you do that? Absolutely. We'll just add that into the matching portion. So if you just want to come donate, we'll make sure that that gets put into the matching portion. And we'll make sure it doesn't make it into Neal and Julie's deli lunch.
Right. But I highly recommend getting the lunch at deli. Yes. At Brolin's Deli. Yeah. Super, super good. So, Yeah. And, so we have that again, 11 to noon. Just swing by, come see us. Come say hi. Swipe the card, spend $5 or $500. Whatever. Whatever suits you. To help. Yeah. We had a coworker who's already gone.
Gone and done his donation at the Miracle Box, and that's what he did. He swiped his card, two, $100 item. So he did it twice. Yeah, and made his donation. It's. And he was talking to us yesterday saying it's just so easy. He said it took like, 10s. And he was so easy, so. Yeah. Yes. And by the way, one last thing we have, we've already told you this this morning, but every dime goes to help those in need.
None of it goes to administrative costs or anything. All of that's already been covered. So, 100% of your donations will go to pay for the things you're you're purchasing. Yeah. And there's very small ones. There's $5. There's $7. There's bigger ones, $25 or $50. So you have a whole range there where you can donate. Not only that, you get to see Julian, reindeer antlers and Neal in a Santa cap.
So we are decked out for Christmas. This might get kind of hot. You're going to get hot. Yeah, yeah. It's okay. Maybe I'll cut vent holes in the back. You can take off your jacket and, and the commercial break. Okay. Yeah, I could, I could get them cool off another way. Yeah, yeah. Although I have a wife beater tank top on underneath.
No, I don't you say that on here. No, no as a style and not as a confession. Like that's not even. No. Okay. Yeah, I think you can say that, can't you? I maybe I don't know, can you. It's a slang term and I do not advocate domestic violence, but how did that ever get to be that. No.
Sorry. That tumbled out of my mouth. If anyone was offended by that, well, half the time I don't know what is supposed to be offensive or not anymore. I know the rules get changed every day. I don't know either. Like, I really don't know because it used to be if you said the word he or she in the wrong context, all hell broke loose.
Oh, yeah, but if I'm on, if I'm on social media, scrolling through videos, some of the stuff that the comedians are saying now are like, how do you say that? And this not be an internet international incident? Yeah, yeah, maybe we just gotta quit. Like bowing to the new rules to our own thing. You can't say wife beater.
Go right ahead. Okay? Okay. All right. Yeah. There you go. Everyone who's offended text in everyone who's not offended, text in, and we'll see how that shakes out. I'm going to guess most of them are not offended. Probably. Probably not. So, okay, it is Friday. So we want to open the phone lines up wide open whatever you'd like to talk about today.
If it's drones, if it's Trump's picks, if it is a hey to I don't have the name in front of me. The new recruit at BYU that's making the bounty, the banter, the banter. Yeah, that's what it's, getting paid $7 million. We've had some mixed feelings about this, coming in, and, so if you want to talk about that, you can, if you're a BYU fan, are you excited for this?
I, I'm sure they're over the top. Okay. I'm sure they're over the top. Quite honestly, they don't care if he finishes his schooling. They don't care. I know, I know that that feels I know empty I know, I know, but they don't care. But this is the new landscape of college athletics. That's what stinks about. Yeah. You know what matters to me AJ Devonta is probably going to make millions and millions of dollars in the NBA barring some injury.
He's probably going to be very well off in his life. So he's the exception not the rule. Yeah. There are hundreds and thousands of college athletes that this is their way to make a future for themselves. Yeah. And so, I hope that a story like AJ to bounce, that doesn't discourage another college athlete who's not going to be as near as successful on the next level or has no option for the next level.
Yeah, to give up that you have an opportunity to get your schooling paid for, go do that, experience everything you can in college so that you could are creating a future for yourself. Yeah. So and again I don't there's no individual I want to fault here. It's more of a situational thing that that's kind of unfortunate. But what does that do with with team dynamics.
Because AJ demands is going to show up one year 7 million. He's out of there and off to the NBA. But he'll be surrounded by players who a lot of them probably are come from fairly affluent families, but not that kind of money. Some of them may not come from affluent families. They're struggling. They're there for 4 or 5 years to get their college degree, to have a scholarship at their work.
And really, does it create an imbalance for the other the other players? Like, is there how does that culture work out when you have one incredibly highly paid superstar showing up, playing in the midst of these much more just, humble circumstances? College ball players? I'm wondering if a lot of that rests on AJ to bounce his shoulders. If he comes in and he's humble and he includes his teammates in the fun that he gets to experience and everything, I think it's probably going to be fine.
Yeah, if he comes in and acts like he owns the place and I'm already guaranteed 7 million and I'm going to get more, that's probably going to destroy the team unity. So I and maybe, maybe not, maybe he can be the nicest guy ever. And there's still going to be issues, but I think that will be a major part of it.
So I'll be very, very vague because I just want to be vague. But that's not vague itself. But I know of a situation where you had a college basketball player, super good, very talented point guard. His uncle was in the NBA, millions of dollars. Well, the uncle set up the nephew to kind of live that lifestyle. Some luxury during college.
Bought a house for him. He had a personal chef. He had a, you know, he had a bunch of things. And there was a fairly toxic environment that was created by that. And to back up what you've said, I think it actually comes down to the player and and how they interact with their their fellow teammates. And, you know, you said that his father's the manager of this kid.
It'll be interesting. I would expect that to continue like I would expect him to the mom and the dad to move to Provo area somewhere in in that area, whether it be Lehigh, American Fork, whatever. And, there's probably going to be some donor that buys their house that that's probably going to happen. Probably. True. And so they're going to become part of the community if they're really great people that will play well with the Mormons.
Well, it will, it it might. And I'm sure that you have people who are are thinking out ahead of this going, if this young man is a great fit at BYU, let's try and steer him to the jazz eventually to have him play for the jazz. If he's a superstar at BYU, then maybe you could kind of see that that sort of thing happening.
Yeah, they are an arms wide open community. They are they for that. And I'm sure that's not the only place that that happens. We just heard we have an understanding of how BYU works. So yeah. Yeah that's true. Where where will the jazz be in the draft pick that lineup. Have they been doing okay? I have no idea.
Yeah I have because the crappiest teams get the first pick. Right. Yeah. I'm not sure I could get less interest in the NBA. And you know I love school right. Yeah I know I do. I, I have a whole aggregated portion of TikTok and, and X that give me the sports information. I have no interest at all in the NBA.
Yeah. You know I correlate my because I like sports to my decline in the interest in sports, particularly professional sports coincides with having kids. They just took up all my time. There was no where extra time. So that's it. It's like something's got to go. And so it's rare that I follow a team through an entire season of the of the NFL and and the NBA when.
But when I was a kid and single and life was just all your own, I, I followed it much more closely. And now I'm like, even with baseball, like, I like the World Series, I don't start watching to see who's doing what until like late August. Yeah. Then it's like, okay, who's going to be in the world? September's coming around.
I should figure out who's playing in the World Series. Yes. Yeah. So, but I've always been a Bengal fan, always kept track of how they're doing. Yeah. And they play this weekend. They do Walla Walla great Saturday evening, 6 p.m. tip off at region. Do you know what I do? You know I did last night because we're we're painting and moving stuff around.
And so it was a good opportunity to go through my closet. And on one particular rack, like we get a new shirt. Those of us who work on the on the table at ESU every year or two, we have a new one. I had nine ESU golf shirts, and so it's time to downsize a little bit. I kept three of them, though.
Do you know what? If John Valjean was listening right now, you would get an earful. It's like you don't downsize. You create a collection. No, Belge. And he did downsize. Did he really? Yeah. He brought in a bunch of shirts that he had and put them on the table in the conference room, and he said, have you know that?
Yeah, that was probably six months ago. But that's shocking to me. This man has a pair of, athletic shoes to coordinate with every sports outfit he owns. He does. And I'm wondering how many baseball caps he has with different teams. Oh, I probably the same. Probably a baseball cap for every outfit. Yeah. It's crazy. All right. (208) 542-1079 we're going to go to the phones.
Hi, caller. How are you today? Good. How are you? Good, good. What's up? Fantastic. Rise and shout. The Cougars are out. We're on our way to fame and glory. Listen, the main reason I'm excited about AJ demands of playing for BYU isn't to watch AJ. AJ to band to play for BYU. It's the reaction that Stephen Ace Smith from ESPN gave when he announced he was playing at BYU.
The anger in his face was just amazing. I did not see this. I didn't see it either, but I know there's been a lot of talk over the last two days on on the national level about AJ, the bouncer. Oh, you have got to go find the video of AJ to bounce, committing to BYU and just watching Stephen Ace Smith when he said it.
And then the follow up questions he what he could not figure out why AJ didn't want to go to USC and play against Duke. And AJ had the absolute best response. He said, why can't I play Duke at BYU? Okay that's great. Yeah, dude. It was phenomenal. So check out that video and have a have a watch. It is absolutely stunning to see the reaction of him.
Okay, I will I will check that out. I think that people don't quite understand the culture of being a BYU athlete and the way that you're beloved. I know that exists other places, but it is definitely like upper tier in Provo. If you are an athlete, you are treated so well by just our royalty. Yeah, it just is how it works.
And so that's a hard thing to turn down. You're getting 7 million and you get to be king. Like that's a tough thing to say no to. Well at the at the last game against Fresno State, AJ was there in the student section and they call it the Rock. And you're exactly right, Julie. The way that those students and the fans were treating him was just gold.
I mean, it just was stunning to watch. I mean, it's going to be an awesome thing to watch him play at the Marriott Center. But oh man, that Stephen Smith reaction was just priceless. Okay, we'll find it. A little side note, we got a text from somebody that said I was told one of the jazz owners paid the $7 million.
They got this. They said, my son played a double, currently and with a former recruit at BYU. And that's what all of the BYU former players are saying is that the 7 million was ponied up by somebody connected to the jazz. Yeah, yeah, that would be Ryan Smith, the owner. And, all out. This Ryan Smith is the reason that, the coach, I can't remember his name.
Anyway, the reason BYU has the basketball coach they do is because of Ryan Smith. Okay. All right. Okay. Nurturing that college program. Yeah. Yep. Great. Okay. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the, for the call and the tip on the Stephen Smith video. Yeah, I'll find it. Yeah, we'll find it during the break. Yeah. Okay. (208) 542-1079 let's answer this question.
It says this player that signed to play BYU, does he have to get an ecclesiastical endorsement. And does he have to follow the standard set by BYU? No. And yes. If you're not a member of the faith and I, there's the but you have to sign the honor coach. Yeah. You have to sign the honor code now, let's all be honest with each other.
Does that mean they all obey the honor code? Yes. No. Yes, I'm sure they do. Hold on. I had plenty of BYU athletes that were asking my daughter on dates. No, they did not. I'm sure they do though. Julie. Oh, okay. Let's go back to the phones. I caller how are you today? Good morning. Hi. I, I was confused.
Excuse me. I was a freshman at BYU 1962 61, and they held the Western Regionals for the NCAA tournament. That's when I just won. UCLA started there. Yeah. And there was no. Well, I'll just show you how things have changed. There was a big discussion about holding that tournament there, because they were concerned about people coming out of during the game and having a smoke and, and betting and all of that type of stuff.
And they were not sure if he was ready to handle that. That was not how come forward to today. Let's just let's just happen. It's really fascinating. And you need to go. There are, every one of the guys has got a program that Stephen H. Smith program with his with age and his dad is, is really interesting.
But there's, any number of half hour talk shows. Now, what's on that thing is just it's just exploded. It is. They said it rivals, earthquake in California.
That that's. And what's fascinating is, at least neither Julie nor I had even heard the name AJ De Ban prior to this week. Me neither. But he was on the USA team when he was a freshman in high school. Yeah. Yep. And just at the most valuable awards. Yeah I, I'm not in the dark on that. Yeah.
Number three would be number three would be the drones in New York. Yeah okay. Got yeah. Yeah. Of the topics. Yeah. Great. Well thank you for the call. We we appreciate that. (208) 542-1079 somebody said Kevin Young is the new, BYU basketball coach. Yeah, that means nothing to me. I hope he's awesome. I hope they have a good season.
All right, let's go to the next call. You're on the program. Good morning to morning. Hi. As far as AJ defenses goes, it's one reason he chose BYU was due to the Kevin Young NBA staff that he has. He has something like 12 assistants. The covers nutrition covers psychology and of course physical nurse, all NBA people.
And so the young kids see that and say, this man will give me to the NBA and his program will. Just a thought. That's a really good option. That's one of the thank you. That's one of those inside baseball things that we don't typically think about. But if BYU is staffed with a bunch of NBA guys on the coaching staff, then yeah, if you're an NBA prospect, that's that would want to go out there a draw.
So, we got a clarification from somebody who had no, that says nonmembers have to present their own ecclesiastical endorsement to the BYU officials. So whatever church age demands, it does claim to belong to. Okay. He has to have some sort of, hey, this kid's upstanding and worthy and blah, blah, blah. So some recommendation. Yes. Okay, okay. I did not know that.
I didn't know that either. So yeah. Okay. (208) 542-1079 okay. And yeah, he suddenly he's like a superstar. Now, it's weird because he went from I bet you 990 people out of a thousand had no idea who this kid was. Yeah. Prior to this week. But I will say again, we talked about this last hour. Neal and I watched probably a seven or an eight minute YouTube video.
It was just a, compilation of like, tons of dunks. And he he had a few assists so he can pass the ball. There weren't very many shots from the outside, so we'll have to see how that looks for him. Yeah. And maybe he does have a great outside shot. And they were just paying attention to the dunks.
But there was more. We just ran out of commercial time when we were watching it. He seems like a good kid. It was a very humble gameplay. Yeah, it wasn't a lot of celebrating. There was like he was just playing ball. Didn't see a lot of whining or flopping. Not to compare him to any other player that might be in the NBA.
Well, maybe not anymore in the NBA. But you know, we're. Yeah, no connection at all. We'll take a break. It's 928 on Newstalk 179. If you'd like to reach us at the fall River propane calling text line (208) 542-1079. Somebody texted and said they're down in Saint George, but they'd like to participate today from 11 to noon. Is it too sticky for them to Venmo me the money and make me do it?
You know what they can do? They can go to the miracle box.org and make a purchase right online. Okay, okay. I will tell him that. Yeah. Well, let me make sure of the miracle website, miracle Box stores. All right. Well, let me let me double check. It's either miracle box, the miracle box.org. So also get what they donate so we can have Mark match it okay.
And we'll find out because I don't know. Oh the jazz are five and 18. How much money could I make auctioning my old I issue shirts. Do they smell like Neal 50 bucks? Yeah. Did you see the DTI higher? Yes. No. If you saw the video, he is definitely not. That is good. But it's funny, somebody said maybe to bands.
I was a DEA hire for BYU and then they followed it up with relax, it's a joke. People.
Okay, I have a question. Yeah, I'm not a BYU sycophant. Yeah. Is their fight song really rise and shout? The Cougars are out. Is that really the words? Let me find out.
It probably is, because I'm going to play that theme song when me and my girlfriends are on our trip. Let's see. Rise and shout. The Cougars are out along the trail to fame and glory. Rise and shout. Our cheers will ring out as you unfold your victory story on you. Go to vanquish the foe for alma mater.
Sons and daughters. As we join in song. In praise of you. Our faith is strong. We'll raise our colors high in the blue. And cheer our cougars of BYU. Oh man, it makes me want to do you know. And change the words to that. And yes, make an anthem for me and my friends.
Yeah. That's fun. I have a Ricks College shirt. It's a baseball t, okay. And it's got the little Viking guy on it. Yeah, and it says Ricks. I still haven't gotten rid of that. I'm trying to think the oldest shirt that I have, I did have. I think one of my daughters stole it, though. My high school football practice t shirt.
Oh, had my number on it and everything. 27 I in Mason's. I made like several tubs for my kids. Yeah, with their crap, you know, like their yearbooks and stuff like that to send on. Yeah. I'll do the straight minimum. Okay. But Americans are not struggling. You know, this is the worst platform. Who put this stage up. This is the way the frickin place is falling down.
I notice it keeps tilting further left.
Like too many other things.
What a crappy contractor. This Donald Trump going off. He was in Saint Paul, I think, in Minnesota. And the podium he was using was just all all over the place. And he's like it leans to the lower. You heard it all. Yeah. It was very funny. So good. This is the comic like the comedic part of Trump that there's I'm not going to just say Kamala couldn't do it.
There's nobody on the left that currently behaves this way in front of people. The closest they've got is John Fetterman because he cracks these weird lines that you don't expect to come out of his mouth. It's not really comedy. Yeah, but at least it catches you a little bit off of off guard. Well, it's unintentional comedy. Yeah. So yes.
Yeah. I mean they've got nobody that can act like this in front of a crowd. No. Trump is just so comfortable. He's just so comfortable in in front of people. And he's just he's commanding too. And I think maybe that's why the left hates him. Because he the way he shook Macron's hand. Just that dominant pose. They can't stand that about him.
They think that it's toxic masculinity when in reality it's just strength. Yeah. Just standing up for America, just being proud of being an American and showing that we are the world power. Yeah. Instead of the apology tour or instead of the hey, let me give you a whole bunch more money. That, by the way, happened again last night.
500 million, 500 million more for Ukraine. Don't say, some people get triggered when you say I don't even care. He say that you were. Don't say that you were. Don't say that you were. It's like that movie A Quiet Place. Like, don't make any noise. Don't say to you. Did you see that Mitch McConnell, is warning America that back in the 1930s, prior to World War two, and that there was a very strong America first attitude, and we ended up, I think, was it so is he alive back then?
Yeah. He remembers he was a middle aged man back then. And.
Anyway, I'm thinking, okay, the America First attitude in the 1930s. And he talked about how there was one part I can't remember the name of the politician he said was very isolationist and, and, he's like, fortunately, we went the other way. You know how Mitch McConnell talks and, and I'm thinking Trump's not an isolationist. This is not some libertarian approach with Trump.
Trump's standard is does this make sense for our country? Not I don't think Trump even views it the way you and I view it. I think he looks at it like, what are we going to do that's best for America and best for Americans? Whereas I think libertarians go, I don't want a dime of my money going to this country over here, over there.
That's my money. And so it's a different standard. And sometimes you get the same outcome, but sometimes you get very different outcomes. I don't think Trump is a libertarian isolationist as much as he's, or if it doesn't make sense for the United States of America, we're not doing it. We're not going to keep sending endless amounts of cash to Ukraine.
What does that do for us? Goodness, Mitch, we can moderate. Yeah, this can moderate. We have gone overboard on the money that we're sending that for these ridiculous programs in these random countries, plus all of the money going to Ukraine, the way we've bent over backwards, the Afghanistan withdrawal. Oh my goodness. We had no pride in America when we did that.
Yeah, we took every bit of effort that had been given for those years, which was too long, by the way, but every bit of effort that have been given for those two years and just flushed it away, yeah, like we can moderate. We're not in a dangerous place by moderating. No, we we aren't. And it's such sort of juvenile, narcissistic thinking for that sentiment to be out there that you have two choices.
Julie, if I present this to you, keep sending endless amounts of cash and resources to Ukraine or you're an isolationist like that's those are the two choices that kind of simplistic thinking presents. Well, okay, at risk. We've only got a few minutes left and we don't have to take the phone call, but the man who calls from Ukraine all the time, that's the world he lives in.
Yes, there is no moderation to this amount that we send to Ukraine. It needs to be an endless amount of money. And if you don't do that, you are a bad person. Yeah, well that's ridiculous. Yeah, it it is it. It makes no sense. It's the same sort of thinking. Julie, that not everyone, but a handful of people in education have that whatever money you put toward education, it is never enough.
And if you suggest tweaking it at all, you're anti education. You're trying to you're trying to destroy the education. No, it's like we probably have a 10 million options we could talk about. Yeah. There's lots of ways to reform. Lots of things that maybe worked 40 years ago that aren't working now. You know shift some things out, bring some new things in.
You can look differently at situations. There isn't just one way to handle education. There isn't just one way to handle the war in Ukraine. There isn't just one way to handle the border issue. There isn't just one way to handle tariffs. Yeah, I mean, the whole thing happens with tariffs too. You you get these pundits on MSNBC or CNN that are like there is never a good time for tariffs.
Oh come on. Did you see the clip with the Shark Tank guy schooling the CNN anchor on tariffs. I'll I'll have to find that it it was really good because she was an I don't even remember the point that she was, it was the, the typical leftist narrative that if Donald Trump implements tariffs against China and others, then our economy will be destroyed.
That that's, you know, and and everything will be so un, un, unaffordable to the American, the American public. And he, he wasn't he's like, I do business in China like, I, I do this every day. And you're trying to tell me with your theory what's going to happen when I can tell you with actual experience the way that it is?
I love that. And he like he doubled down. I'll, I'll I'll I'll find it. I love that because there's no way I'm going to I'm going to pretend like I know absolutely everything about Ukraine. But man, I'm going off on the caller. But the caller that calls in will give 100% agreeance to a compromised former general. Like you need to find people who are in the trenches right now.
Find the people who are doing the war and ask them and make sure that they're not compromised by the war machine. Make sure they understand what's going on. Find somebody. Kevin O'Leary, that's his name, right? Yeah. Find somebody who's doing business in in China and then ask them, what's this tariff going to do to that good that you sell here in America.
What's it going to do. Yeah. Let's talk to those people instead of somebody armchair quarterbacking it by after they've watched a stinking YouTube video. Yes. I'm so all right. Well I know and and what's fascinating is they're simply parroting stuff. They've heard other liberals who are just parroting stuff they've heard from other liberals. It simply becomes this echo chamber, and they kind of fabricate this, this new reality for themselves.
And because somebody else said it, they feel like that gives them the authority and the justification to keep saying it. It's like, well, yeah, no, we we debunked 2020. Did you or did you hear another journalistic outfit say that they debunked 2020. And you're like okay good. It's been done. We've debunked. And so they keep repeating the same thing that they hear that is repeating.
You know hey here's a little bit of this, this Kevin O'Leary and talking about the tariffs TikTok, American people made people made a decision in Congress to ban it on midnight Jan 19th, the supreme leader of China said, no, we're going to use your court systems to litigate the American people. So that doesn't mean okay, I think this may be a little old.
He's talking about TikTok here, but, at some point he does talk about the tariffs. I'll find it. It's like an eight minute bit. But, it was really good. And, I'm I'm going to be a lot more likely to trust somebody like Kevin O'Leary. First off, he's his salary doesn't depend upon what CNN or MSNBC is telling him to say.
Yeah. So that's step one. Step two, he's in the middle of it. So that's going to give him even more. We can we can even go back to Covid to explain this. What was it, the Barrington Declaration? Am I saying that right? Yeah. Barrington Declaration, we were we were discrediting physicians who are actually working with people who are sick with the disease because Rachel Maddow said they were wrong.
Yeah. Help me understand that. Yeah. And by the way, the Barrington Declaration has been completely validated. Now, that's absolutely the way we should have gone. But they needed to enrich the pharmaceutical companies. And the Barrington Declaration wouldn't do that. So, and now the guy who wrote it is going to have a whole bunch of government authority come January.
We'll be back after this. Okay. Let me let me find this. Oh, you know what? Hold on. I think you can see the transcript sometimes. Happened economy people come on here, Trump. Hang on, hang on now just just hang on. People come on the show. And then they defend a different economic policy that than the one that Trump is advocating.
He says in the clip. What am I going to do, negotiate with China or Mexico? He doesn't want to negotiate. He says you're not going to get anything from them. Okay. That's what he says. He does not want to negotiate. Also, the question I asked you is where is the rest of the plan? Where is the rest of you should have personally cured the virus?
No. You want to get back to the I mean, you are implicitly by by pretending it didn't start in his state, which he can now do. There has or I tried. But here's the thing. If you say to that I say that there should be say to there they're just 2% inflation. He wants to devalue the dollar. They they brought manufacturing back anyway.
I can't find it. So, yeah. Someone said put Mark Cuban and Kevin O'Leary on the same panel and have them.
Because the thing about the people who are freaking out about tariffs and again, I don't claim to be an expert on tariffs, but sometimes the threat of a tariff is just enough. You don't even have to implement a King tariff. Exactly. Why can't you just try with the threat and see what you get? Yeah, it's so frustrate. It's why cops carry guns.
Yes. Or they sit in the park in an intersection and they maybe your radar, maybe not radar. You don't know, but what do you do? You break and you slow down. Yeah. It's the threat of getting a ticket. Yes. And traffic starts to obey the laws. We can learn almost every important lesson about life from Karate Kid.
And when Mr. Miyagi asked Danielson why you learn karate, and Danielson says so, I know how to fight. No. Danielson and Danielson finally realizes so I don't have to fight him. Be willing to implement tariffs so you don't have to. Yeah, yeah. If if there's two people walking through, two men walking through a parking lot and one looks fit and like he could easily carry a couple hundred pounds or a couple of 50 pound bags of sugar.
And then there's another one that's weak. Which one is the criminal going to go after? Yes. Like, yes, America can be the guy that looks a little bit beefy and can carry the heavy bags of sugar, and they don't even have to do anything. Yeah. Can I ask a rude question? Are liberals that dumb? Yeah, probably because it's like the creation of gun free zones.
You're saying everyone here will be defenseless?
No one can shoot back at you. Come in. Yes, please. Come in. Am I wrong? No, not at all. Like this is exactly the same thing. It's like Trump's not going to do anything that that destroys our economy. But he is going to talk very strong against Mexico and China and these, these countries that have taken advantage of us, with trade and I'm all in.
I'm all for it. He's he will win this. Yeah, yeah. And I can't wait for the left to apologize. Oh, yeah. That would be a first. Yeah, yeah. Marjorie Taylor Greene is crying foul on the drones. Oh, I have to admit something about MTG one. I scroll right past Oliver X is not a big fan, I really struggle.
She's a bit of a flame thrower. Yes, but she's probably right. She probably should be pointing out that the explanation they've given on drones is. Yeah, I'm weak. Baloney. Hogwash. What else are we going to call it? Oh, I had an idea for a social media thing. Yeah. So yesterday in our it was in our staff meeting. I was even before the party somebody was talking about, you get these things and you I, I've actually done it.
You put them on your feet and it makes all the dead skin sloughed off, and then you pull it off. We should do that. Oh, really? Like sticky? Well, like, they're like little booties, and you put them on and they've got, like, a almost like a gel in them, and it it kind of eats away all the dead skin.
And then you peel it off, does it. And your, your feet are baby soft after doesn't. It's not like battery acid or. No 000000.
It's every once in a while when I'm teasing my or tweezing my clients brows. They do that. Oh yeah. Yeah. My my. That's funny. It's like pulling a nose hair. Like you instantly want to start crying. Not that I have nose hair. I've heard about it all the time. When I pull my nose hairs, too.
I've heard about it like I had a friend who knew a guy whose dad's uncle went through it.

And I said, are you watching football? And he goes, go Broncos. He like, puts both hands up in the air. Yeah, because every football team is the Denver Broncos. Yes. Nice. Go Broncos. That's what he thinks everything is. The Broncos go Broncos. Oh I didn't even think about that. Robert says girl reindeer do have antlers because usually it's just the boys.
In those species who have antlers. But girl reindeer do. Look, I'm even appropriate. I'm not even misgendering myself. That's that's good.
That's good.
Just say the jokes. No I'm not. No, I am not. I am not gonna. Gay. No. And you can't make me. I'm not gonna say it. Okay. Oh, you know what? I don't know. 11. Oh, female bison have horns. Also. Jeez, I learn new stuff every day. I'm almost 52. You guys. Two new animal facts. I just learned.
Okay. Move that. Yeah, I noticed that. That happens. So both of us do it. What, like we're making a point or whatever, and I'll put my fist on the desk and it shakes the cameras, or you'll move your mouse and move it over, and it shakes the camera. Yeah, it's true. It does happen. One, two and a half for the listeners who joined late and sped like scooted past the beginning part, make sure you go and you watch the beginning of the, Facebook Live, the Facebook Live.
