10.18.2024 -- NLS -- Signs of the Times: Prop 1, Political Rallies, and a Musical Break
On this episode with Neal and Julie, they kick off by discussing how they're just two and a half weeks away from the election, and there's a lot happening. They share a story about giving out political signs, which started as a simple plan but quickly escalated into an overwhelming response from people eager to get their hands on the signs. They even joke about how it felt like a scene from "The Walking Dead" with people coming from all directions.
Neal then dives into the significance of Prop 1, explaining how it could fundamentally change Idaho's election system. He passionately warns listeners about the dangers of this proposition, arguing that the messaging around it has been misleading and underplays the gravity of the changes it could bring. He emphasizes how much is at stake for Idaho’s future if the proposition passes, calling it a direct threat to their way of life and freedoms.
Meanwhile, Julie chimes in with her own frustrations about the election season, noting how it's starting to wear on her patience. They also give a shoutout to a local band, Jay and I, who join them in the studio to perform a cover of "Millionaire" by Chris Stapleton. The episode balances political urgency with moments of lighthearted music and camaraderie.
