And welcome to the Monday edition of the podcast. Of course. This is the exclusive content portion of the podcast. We'll get to the regular stuff here in just a couple of minutes. But, Julie, I saw this online over the weekend and realized I wanted to share this with you. I don't know why I didn't send it, but I'm glad I didn't now because now it'll be fresh when I throw it.
Yeah, I haven't heard this, so let's do it. The headline on the Babylon Bee is ten breakfast cereals that sound like Mormons swearing after stepping on a Lego. It's so good. Okay, let's do it. The first one. Crispy critters.
Okay, but these are good honey bunches of oats. I think people actually say that. Do the as a swear word. Like a fake swear? Yes. That's. It does sound like a fake squirt, Here's another one. Grape-Nuts.
Which has sort of a mild swear word in it. Okay. Music's our muesli. It's muesli, isn't it? I don't know. I think it's muesli. Okay, that one's not hitting for me as much as the first three. Okay, here's. Here's number five. Cinnamon toast crunch. Gets me someone saying that, number six is Cracklin Oat Bran.
Oh. No, no. Do you. Do you want me to give you a clue? I think they did this. What? Okay, here's the deal on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Is that what it's called? The show. I'm not watching the Hulu thing. Yeah, the Hulu thing. Yeah. Okay. They call a intimate act between two people. Yeah. Fruity pebbles.
Oh, okay. I guess that's a mormon slang term. I didn't know it. I've never heard that before. I didn't expect you to know it. No. So I'm wondering if they knew about that. And now they're adding on to Mormons using cereal names. Maybe that is it. Yeah, that could be. Okay. Keep going. Let's hear the rest of them.
Okay. Apple Jacks. That's right there with Grape-Nuts. Okay, here's another one. I've never heard of this particular cereal, but sprinkle spangles. Oh, I've never heard of that one either. Yeah, I feel like I'd screw that one up, too. Like, it's too many S's, and I. I do something wrong. Yeah, cause, you know, I can't say kerfuffle correctly.
That's true. You got to be careful with kerfuffle.
Okay, the number nine is Crunch Berries. Okay. Which sort of feels like. Oh, fiddlesticks. Yes, I'll crunch berries and then number ten, which I've never heard of this. You know how you have offshoot? Maybe. Temper. Apparently. Wheaties. Dunk balls. Oh. Is balls. Yeah. This type. And then, of course, Babylon Bee said this type of obscenity should only be reserved for stepping on the sharpest of Lego bricks.
Dunk up Wheaties dunk balls. Are there any phrases that you like to say that are sort of swear word esque, but not really swear words? Really just shiz. That's my go to shiz. I don't have I know that like, people have swear words that sound like swear words. I'm trying to think of one. Well, I can't think, but they they're ones that sound like it that they use.
But I don't do any of those. You know what scratches the cussing itch for me when I say jack wagon? Oh, yeah. Or moron. Moron does it too. Yeah, yeah. I'm okay with moron or jack wagon. Yeah. I don't have chips. Is it? That's it. Does it ever shock you if you hear someone say, oh, we'll shut the front door like that?
Does that one get you? Yeah. You're worried? Yeah. Well, I said crock of shit on the show the other day, and you thought I was going to say you got me. I'm like, well, there's just that one last little letter. That's all. That had to be different. And I have been known to make a mistake before. Kerfuffle? Yes, that's for sure.
And finally they said, startling raw expressions. The Babylon bee apologizes for the crude nature of this article, but felt it was important to prepare the populace at large for the colorful language they might hear when, in the presence of angry, injured Mormons. Oh, that's so good. There's your exclusive today. You can find all of it at Babylon Bbc.com.
All right, here's the podcast on this Monday.
If you want to show.
I probably took a bullet to the head because of the things that they say about me. And I grew up in a neighborhood of folks who are very proud of their lawn. You know, 52 days, and we are Tampa Bay. If you do that, it's fine by Donald Trump. But if things are so good right now, then why does the new banner at the Harris rally say a new way forward?
I noticed that when you had Kamala Harris and Tim Voltz, you gave them multiple choice answers to the questions that you asked, and you allowed them to answer the questions. And good morning. It's 808. It's Monday. It's good to have you with us. And they did it again. The effort to kill Donald Trump before he could become the president of the United States.
Now, I say they. And someone may take offense at that. They is whoever they are. And from about 400 yards outside the golf course at Mar-A-Lago, through a chain ring, chain link fence. I'm not going to say the guy's name. We just don't do that here. I'm sure his name gets said in news reports and maybe another talk channels.
I'm just not a big fan of fueling notoriety for evil people. But what we have learned, and I'm going to have full disclosure here, is largely this guy was a fairly prolific donor to the Democrat Party. I think he donated 20 different times to Democrats. He posted things on his social media that democracy is on the ballot. I have heard some reports, though I don't know how accurate these are, that he supported Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy, which is kind of interesting because those two were at each other's throats.
They hated each other, if you might. If you remember, they completely, irrelevant primary that we went through. You had Vivek triggering Nikki Haley. They did not like each other. So it's interesting that the reports are out there that he did, at least briefly support them. But I will say don't read too much into that because there are people who hate Trump so badly, they will support anybody they think might be a threat to Trump.
It's not because they're conservatives or they're good old fashioned Republicans or whatever. So just just no, take that with with a grain of salt. And then of course, the most noteworthy and hopefully this man will spend the rest of his pathetic life in prison. He was shot there was returned fire after he shot at the president.
They covered him. They did their job in covering the president immediately. I know there's been a lot about. Why was he even allowed to get that close? Why didn't they have drones in the air? I know why, why, why? There's lots of these why questions that are out there. They shot back. He fled in an SUV. It didn't take him too long.
They caught up with the guy, and they have since arrested him. So, you know, I don't know exactly how to read how the media responds to things like this. I do remember the Butler, Pennsylvania rally because it was on TV. Some channels were carrying it live, but it was in our faces. It was blatant and it was clear.
We saw it, we heard the gunshots. We saw the president duck. We saw the blood on his face. It was all very visible. We had video of it. This one is a little different because we don't have video of it. I don't know, maybe there's a body cam footage of something that the agents had and maybe we'll see.
But there he didn't he didn't hit Trump like big like Trump got hit in Butler. So it feels a little less serious than Butler. But I'm here to tell you. And when you it's your job to come to a microphone every day and talk about the news and to say it is the second assassination attempt with shots fired, not just a plot, but actual shots fired in two months.
You're like, what am I saying? Is this truly the America that I'm living in? And this is our America now? This is this is this is the situation that we find ourselves in, that the and oddly enough, have you ever. No, I'm not saying that. It was an inside job, and, there's some plot beyond. This guy is just hated Trump and wanted to kill him.
We don't know anything about that yet. I don't know if we'll ever get to the truth, because I don't know if the truth is a priority anymore. The narrative is the priority. The desired truth is the priority. So I don't know if we're ever going to find out the truth on this, but what I will say is that, you know, sometimes if you go to a grocery store and they get your change wrong, after a while, you get suspicious when the error is always in the grocery stores favor, you're like, how?
How does this happen? If you we all you know, the change back gets wrong sometimes. We've all been through that. But the law of averages would dictate that sometimes it's in your favor, sometimes it's in the house's favor. I'll use a gambling term at some point. Do you start to wonder when all of the real shots fired assassination attempts are against one side?
Why is that? Furthermore, we are in an environment. If you. If you didn't know the truth, if you didn't know about the assassination attempts and you were just listening to the news cycle and the rhetoric that gets thrown around, you would think that it's MAGA that's violent. You would think that it's white nationalist, Christian nationalist people on the right under the MAGA umbrella that are perpetrating the violence.
And it just is not the case. And maybe it drives them crazy. Maybe liberals live for the day that some MAGA nutjob shoots a shot at Kamala, or Joe or Tim or Nancy or whoever, because then they will have an actual basis for their outrage and they can marinate in it for weeks and weeks. It must be frustrating to be a Democrat, and to be a lib, and to show up every day.
And when there is political violence, it's almost always liberal on conservative or liberal on liberal or liberal on innocent, bystander or liberal on it. It seems like the vast majority of the political violence that we've had in this country for the past several years always, always, always comes from the left. And the moment I say always, I don't mean that literally.
You can find examples, but the overwhelming majority of political violence in this country originates from one side, and it ain't MAGA. It's not the Republican Party. Now, what you have and this is the the main point I wanted to make on this. And by the way, I'm grateful, truly grateful that this attempt was also unsuccessful, in part because I happen to like Donald Trump and I don't want him harmed.
And I think he offers some hope for our country. But perhaps the biggest reason why I'm grateful that this assassination attempt was unsuccessful is because we right now are in a tinderbox. And it's my belief that the people who are normally patient, the people who are normally long suffering, the side that is not perpetrating the majority of the violence is getting very, very fed up.
And if something happens to Donald Trump that incapacitates him or worse, I think there are a lot of people that have decided that's their breaking point. I'm not in favor of violence. I'm not I'm not cheering it on. I'm not encouraging it in any way. But I am going to analyze it. And multiple people said that we literally dodged a bullet and figuratively dodged a bullet in Butler, Pennsylvania, that if that round had connected and killed Donald Trump, we would have seen Civil War.
I would hope that's not true, but I think it is true. I think we are at that point. I think that we have watched the left wage, the methodical destruction of the United States of America over the past few years. I believe it originated during the Obama years when we started seeing these groups like defund the Police, Antifa, when we started seeing open borders policies rule our immigration, and now we have them proactively bringing people in here, deliberately stressing our cities across America.
That's this Haitian issue in Springfield. They're bringing in criminals from Venezuela there. I mean, all of it. And I feel like there's a good portion of almost always peaceful America that's mad as hell, and they're not going to take it anymore. I, I don't look forward to that moment if it arrives, because I think our, our country is struggling mightily.
Got an email over the weekend. And you might remember, if you listen to the program every day, like you should, that I had to manhandle a call last week. I know that's gendered language. Tough crap. Deal with it. But I had a man handle a phone call last week because someone called in. I don't I don't know how to characterize the tone, but they wanted to let everyone know they were too good to vote for either Donald Trump or Kamala Harris.
They just could not bring themselves to vote for either one. So I pressed back a little bit on this because I, I have a different viewpoint on this. There there's the Edmund Burke quote. I thought it was Ben Franklin, but it's Edmund Burke who said, evil happens when good men do nothing. I mean, that's not verbatim, but that's the sentiment.
Well, when you proactively decide you're not voting, you're doing nothing. You are in terms of the outcome, in terms of the impact that you have, you might feel very justified in it. You might feel virtuous, but you're not actually doing anything. You're not doing anything. So I pushed back on this because I feel like it is self-indulgent. I feel like it is narcissistic.
I feel like it is, in some cases cowardly, that if you can't have an optimal outcome, you still have a duty to strive for the least worst outcome. I have tried, and I work really hard to see things a lot of different ways, and I'm genuine about that too. I cannot in any way craft a scenario in my mind where sidelining your vote disenfranchizing yourself is helpful in any way, and I pointed that out to this caller, so I, we got, fairly lengthy email over the weekend.
And this person who messaged, yeah, it's which is fine. It's great. Said this, heard your rant against the man who voted his moral conscience, by your lot. Actually, they haven't voted yet, so he hasn't voted his moral conscience a so I'd take issue with that. But that was just wrong. By your philosophy, it vote for a Hitler type if you thought he'd do a good job for the country.
Well, no, I would. I don't think genocide is a good job in any case. So that's a stupid thing to say because we're talking about political outcomes as a result of the vote. Hitler. Hitler could not have been solved at the ballot box. Okay? It once he was rolling, once Hitler became Hitler, the ballot box was not the solution.
A world war was the solution. So that's not the way it's such a non-sequitur to try to pull it. I get why you do it, because you think that is the that is the move against which there is no defense. It's the crane from Karate Kid to. Okay, no it's not. It's a terrible comparison that doesn't even matter.
And furthermore, no, I don't know if they were comparing Trump to Hitler. It feels a little bit like it. Someone said if Mr. Trump is the best candidate we Republicans can put forward, we deserve to lose that office. Okay? He's the only candidate right now. So again, you're not even speaking to the current situation. If he's the best we can put forward.
Well, for these times, that's the system. I would not trust Mr. Trump to be alone with my money, wife or granddaughters. He demands trust, but does not return it if his image is in jeopardy.
Okay, I think I would take some issue with mean, I don't care. Yeah, I, yeah, there's not really any evidence whatsoever. And now we know Donald Trump has a has a colorful history. I don't think that's in question. I won't I won't defend that. He's been fine and upstanding morally his entire life. But what does that mean?
And I don't know this person's religion. I can guess to it. I would think this person is sanctimonious enough that he probably says he believes in Christ. And part of believing in Christ is that you believe in forgiveness, that you, can recognize. People make mistakes in their past. That doesn't mean you discard them from being able to do good in life.
Now and into the future. So I don't I don't understand why there's this abandonment of what you say you believe. If you believe in in Christ. My belief is President Trump has had significant paradigm shifts spiritually in his life. And in other ways as well, that the Donald Trump that we have today isn't really the same Donald Trump that may have been, around 15, 20, 30, 40 years ago.
And then his personal text, there's so many every sentence deserves deconstruction here. Have faith in the American system. You're the one that doesn't have faith in the American system, has put forward two candidates to choose from, yet you're refraining from the American system. Now you can vote for someone else like that. That's fine. I don't have a if you want to vote for some obscure third party, but don't at least don't deceive yourself into thinking that even matters.
If that's where you're putting your vote. It doesn't. The binary choice here is Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. So that's the playing field that's relevant, and you're withdrawing yourself from it. So that's you're you're the one that does not have faith in the American system. No single term with either party in office will ruin the USA. There are too many checks and balances, and ultimately Americans make corrections.
Okay. Do they? I, maybe it's because I just watched the Reagan film, but the quote that Reagan said when he was, I believe, governor of California, that freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction, that we don't pass it down to our children in the bloodstream. Okay? Do not take this great republic for granted. Don't think that because it's been here for a couple of centuries, that it will be here for a couple more and beyond.
The truth is, no. We can permanently lose our freedom and our system and our republic. And to think otherwise is naive and foolish. And if you don't believe me, take it up with the ghost of Ronald Reagan. He's the one that said we're never more than a generation away from our freedom becoming extinct. And then this wonderful, condescending closing paragraph try not to drink the Trump Kool-Aid.
To the extent that politics overrides your morality. By your assessment, I will waste my vote on someone besides either major candidate and I will sleep just fine. In spite of your vitriol, I hope I never have to say I told you so. Well, you won't because you aren't even playing the game. You've taken yourself out of being relevant by deciding you're not going to vote because you're too good for Donald Trump.
You're too good. You can't cast your pearl of a vote before the swine of Kamala and Donald, so you do. You won't even be in a position to say, I told you so. You have to be relevant to be able to tell someone that you told us so. I can't handle the sanctimony. All right? Like it's just too much for me.
We'll be back after this. It's 828 on Newstalk 1079.
Five.
I.
832 it's Monday, Neal Larson and Julie Mason, your humble radio servants here without an ounce of sanctimony whatsoever. I probably spent more time than I should have, but I especially with today's news cycle, there's so much going on. But I would rather you act like exorcize it and get it off of your chest. Yes. And I just, you know, we all, we all have dumb takes once in a while, don't we?
We we all get it wrong. But when people dig in and double down when their take is dumb, that to me needs to be addressed. Especially taking the time to write you an email. I yeah, every day there's going to be people that disagree with us as and they're probably they yell at their radio or whatever. That's good radio.
That means we're making you think. And I like it, right. But actually sit down and pen the lengthy or type out the lengthy email. Yeah, that's a little weird. But I also can't understand the emotion behind people who hate this man so much. I can't I, I don't either. I've always said I can never understand pedophilia. I don't get it.
You don't get where it comes from. I'm being very truthful here. I don't understand where the hatred of Donald Trump comes from. I'm okay if you don't like him. There's parts about him I don't like. I don't understand the hate. So I had an interesting email exchange with one of our detractors last week, and I wanted to understand this person better.
All right. But I feel like I asked some questions that may have sounded really chirpy, like, I bet you voted for Romney. I bet you've been vaxed and multiple boosted. Yeah, and you might remember that I do. Well, they're like, Will I follow the advice of my doctor? And I said, is that so? You've been vaxed and multiple boosted and they're like, I don't know what that has to do with politics.
And that has everything to do with politics, because that vaccine did not help the larger group. It actually wasn't about health, it was about politics. It was about submission. It was about will you obey a government official and not and and surrender a decision that should just be made on your own with all the I don't even know if it's a decision you make with your doctor.
You make it for yourself after research and after studying. Ultimately, you're the one that owns your decision. And the vaccine was far more of a psychological operation than it was a public health operation. So it's very much relevant and it is super political. And for me, it's very instructive to know how obedient people were to Fauci and how obedient people were to the zeitgeist.
That was telling them, you need to get the vaccine. You need to be and and so but they they can't they can't see it. And I'm thinking this is kind of the same way. That's the tie in here to the Trump Derangement Syndrome. They've been told all these things. They don't they don't reflect any scrutiny back to what's coming in.
So when they watch CNN just enough or when you watch MSNBC just enough, or when you when you take that in, suddenly you find yourself marinating in a, in a set of quote unquote facts that results in rage against Donald Trump. And so when other information that comes, it comes in that is that counters that, like there was nothing to the Russia Trump collusion in fact, that was a big operation put together by Hillary Clinton, the FBI and other elements inside the government, the DOJ, to try and undo the outcome of the 2016 election.
You you don't have anything left to process that because you've you've gone all in on your Trump rage, that you don't handle the offsetting information that comes in and says, okay, this campaign against Trump was all a sham, all of it, every bit of it. And and then you start to look at other things that Donald Trump has been the target of all of the lawfare, these legal cases and criminal cases against him, they're falling apart because judges don't want to attach their reputation to this lawfare effort.
They're tossing out multiple counts against him. They're tossing out evidence. They're. And slowly, methodically, but surely these cases are just kind of dissolving. And they don't they don't carry a lot of weight the way they felt before you said a word to explain these people and you said marinating. I have said repeatedly, one of the worst places you can reside is in victimhood.
You marinate in victimhood, and then you're always a victim, right? Yeah. Well, I don't think we should marinate in anything that's not healthy, you know? In fact, our religion believes in all things in moderation, which means you don't marinate and sit in something. Yeah, that's the problem here. They have decided to take up residency in a state of hatred, and they can't get out of it.
Well, and I think also, Julie, to add to that, they know it's wrong to hate. So somehow they flip that hate into sanctimony. Like I can't bring myself to vote for either one of those, when in reality it's just Trump hatred. Like you're probably not inclined to vote to vote for Kamala Harris, but you haven't been programed to hate Kamala Harris, but you have been to hate Donald Trump.
You know, that's probably not the best thing to do to hate someone. So you have to transform it, morph it, reframe it, whatever inside your own soul to make it morally acceptable. Which is, I can't vote for either one of these candidates. Yes. Yeah, that's just it. And we just the way we justify a lot of things in our lives, every single person.
Because that's human nature. Yeah, that's what I'm asking of the person that you're talking about in the email or the person who sent us the thing, the text about the the dogs and the cats and Springfield and how are off we are on that. And how Trump lied. Okay, you've gone too far. Look in the mirror. Self-reflection is a skill that is lost in this generation of people.
Yeah, get back a hold of it because it's really important. Yeah. It's vital to keep a a good family, good relationships, a good country, a good community. Everyone should be self-reflecting. And when you send an email like that where you can justify absolutely everything you do because you're a better person than anybody else that exists, maybe you're not self-reflecting as much as you should.
Yeah, yeah, probably. Probably not, probably not. 839 (208)Â 542-1079 is the fall River propane call and text line. Let's take a break. We'll come back and continue after this on this Monday morning.
I can't comment right now. It's 845 now. Newstalk. When I was seven nine.
All right. 285421079. If you'd like to join us on the program on this Monday morning, another assassination attempt, an and Julie, I, I don't know how close the shots were fired. I don't know how close that shot was to Trump, though. I don't either. And there is conflicting reports this morning. Some news agencies are saying that the shooter never fired, so the potential shooter never fired.
But then there's other news agencies that are saying he fired. They fired back. So we're just going to have to wait and see. We're not even 24 hours removed yet. The amazing thing about this for me is how much we know about the shooter versus what we've learned about Butler, which makes me even more suspicious about Butler, because this is how in today's world, we should be able to find out this much information this quickly.
Our lives are this transparent. Yeah. And the fact that we know nothing about the shooter in Butler makes me even more edgy. There's so much wrong about that. And and you know what? I've become conditioned, especially in the wake of JFK, that the more we, the more that looks suspicious, the more we're not going to find out. Yeah.
Why is that? Because Occam's Razor is they're hiding it on purpose. That's that. Give me a different explanation. Give me a different explanation. Why is this guy's information all over the place? I think it's because they don't really have a connection to this guy. Yeah. The reason the butler information is hidden is because there's a government connection to him.
Yeah, man. You know, remember the in the early reporting. And I think it was actually the Heritage Foundation that did some digging and they found cell phone data showing someone and someone's phone, in Washington, D.C., on the FBI campus. That whole area made regular visits to the Butler shooter's home in the weeks leading up to that. Where is that gone?
I've heard nothing in weeks about that. Okay, I'm going to also compare shootings here. The Georgia shooting that happened about a week and a half ago on a Wednesday. So it'll be two weeks on Wednesday. The mother of that kid has given multiple interviews since. Since the shooting. Yeah. Where's the butler? Parents. Where are they? Their kid is dead.
You have nothing to risk, right? He was an adult. He could do what he wanted to do. This woman has a kid that she could be charged with because he's 14 and she's giving interviews. But there is a there is just this cloak of silence around the dad. And we've only had we only have two pictures of him since the shooting back in July.
Yeah. And there's been nothing new come from this. What's going on? I don't I don't know, you have some whistleblowers. Josh Hawley has created sort of this pipeline for whistleblower to come forward. And thank goodness we have have him working on this. But we should know so much more about this Butler thing. And it feels like everyone in a position in the government to provide information is not doing that.
And in fact, they're slow walking it or they're putting out disinformation. Exactly. I mean, how can you blame anyone for being suspicious about about the butler shooting? No. One arrow pointing at suspicious activity is one arrow you're we're at dozens of arrows now pointing at suspicious activity. I would we would have to blatantly not be looking to think that there was nothing weird going on here.
Oh, yeah. You you would, you would. And a lot of people think that. Oh, you're you're a conspiracy theorist, actually, if you're not suspicious, you're the conspiracy theorist. Or you're a sheep. Yeah I, it's one or the other. You're just going to believe whatever they tell you. And I don't know how many times they have to abuse you for you to go.
I'm done being told what to do. Yeah, yeah. We can no longer believe them when they tell us things that are contradictory to our own eyes and ears. Yeah. Can't be the case anymore. All right. (208)Â 542-1079. That's the fall River propane call and text line. So, Julie, you and I, we went and picked up our Grand Peak's orders on Friday.
Had to make some room in our garage freezer. And we found a 5 pound brisket that we hadn't used since the spring. Previous order when we got our previous orders. So I thought that's what we're doing for Sunday dinner. So I prepped it Saturday night, refrigerated it, let it sit out a little bit and then cooked it for five hours yesterday.
It was amazing. And I can second everything that you said. I had 1 pound of hamburger left, and with the new hamburger that we got, I added another pound and made meatloaf yesterday. So good you guys you've got to go. You've got to go to Grand Peaks. I actually made chili on Saturday with some of the Grand Peaks ground beef that we got on Friday.
So I'm going through a quick, I know well when it's that you do. Yeah. Because that's that could also and I didn't realize this my wife does most of the grocery shopping. She told me that Grand Peak's ground beef was cheaper than what she had paid at the grocery store for just sort of average ground beef. Really?
Yeah. See what? Yeah. There is no reason to not visit GP primates. Dot com. I know it's great. You're going to love it and you're just going to feel good when you take that box home and you're filling up your freezer. Yep. They're friends of ours. When we stopped by on Friday it's always a great visit.
They take care of us and they will take care of you. Customer service is a big part of their business model. Again, that's GP Prime meats.com. If you don't find everything you need in the packages there, just give them a call. They'll help you out. Yeah. All right. We'll be back. It's 852 on Newstalk 179.
All right. It's it's, 856 on Newstalk 179, Neil Larson along with Julie Mason. We just got this Julie, why are you telling us to vote for a party over our country country's well-being? Did I say that? No. Did I, did I? And they said our country is way more important than your party. Okay, well, when one party's trying to destroy the country, you try to prevent them from getting into power.
We had someone who sent us a text and they said choosing a third party candidate in a presidential race like this one. So with the demographics of this one is like attending the Super Bowl against the bears and the Patriots, but choosing the Lions QB as the MVP because the Lions QB didn't even play in the game.
It's so stupid. It's so stupid, Julie. It is so stupid. I'm not saying there isn't a chance for a third party to to become viable in this exact election that is happening in less than two months. It's not going to happen. Yeah. So then if you want your vote to have any power at the ballot box, you choose between the two parties.
For me, the choice is clear. One party is destroying our constitution. One party is threatening my Second Amendment rights. Yeah, one party wants to silence my speech. The other party wants to be energy independent. The other party, secured in his previous four years secured our national security. Yeah, I okay, you do you I don't I I yeah I know I don't understand that I'm a never once have I said vote party over country
I've never that's maybe their interpretation. But they're just doing what they always think it's good. And people I'll go ahead. I was gonna say let's talk about something else because, well, we got 20s here, okay? But people would say, well, political parties are not in the Constitution. I would say back to them, they kind of are, because our right to peaceably assemble and free speech, you combine that, you're going to have the emergence of political parties.
So all right, our two we will talk about something else coming up right here. It's 859 on Newstalk. 107. I all right. Yeah we're back. Our two. It's 907 on Newstalk 179, Neil Larson along with Julie Mason. And if you'd like to join us, you know the drill. It's the fall River propane. Call and text line (208)Â 542-1079. And if you want to chat about Donald Trump, another assassination attempt, second 1 in 2 months against the former and perhaps future president.
And we live in very interesting times right now, we are getting kind of conflicting information about what happened, whether or not the guy fired a shot or not. Apparently someone said Fox News is reporting he didn't fire shot. Other reports say he did fire shot. And Secret Service returned fire. So what? We'll we'll game. We'll see.
Like I said earlier, we're not even 24 hours out from this story. Yeah, I think the amount of information we have is pretty staggering, especially about the potential shooter, the potential assassin. And, so it will get more clarification. This is also a little bit different than the first assassination attempt. We watched that on live TV. Yeah, this was on a golf private golf course, which means you can minimize it and you can't blame Trump for it.
And you can have zero sympathy or empathy for it at all because it wasn't on video on TV. So yeah. Sorry. Snark, sarcasm. Well, this ism, it's is it cynical when that's the truth because we already have comments being made. And I mean, you have audio of Lester Holt blaming Trump for this. So I don't know. I don't think that's cynical.
You're just you're reading what they're telling you. This is Lester Holt. Today's apparent assassination attempt comes amid increasingly fierce rhetoric on the campaign trail itself. Mr. Trump, his running mate JD Vance, continue to make baseless claims about Haitian immigrants in Ohio. Okay, there is zero evidence whatsoever that this guy who tried to kill Trump on Saturday was inspired by the discussion around the Haitians in Springfield, Ohio.
Like, how does Lester Holt get to make that leap? And still call himself a journalist? I don't know, because he's just making up junk at this point. Because quite honestly, if you're going to try to connect A to B, Ukraine is the connection here. Yeah. Trump was just in a debate last week where he said he wanted to end the war.
He wanted peace now, which means that Ukraine will probably have to give a little bit, and Russia will probably have to give a little bit. And that's going to bother this guy. Yeah, we know this guy is all in the tank for Ukraine. So if you're going to make it some kind of sort of connection between Trump and this man, that's your obvious connection.
That's Springfield, Ohio. Yeah. Right. Right. Exactly that it is. But I think they see it as another opportunity to talk about the cats and the dogs and the pets in Springfield, and they think it hurts. Trump. Yeah. Instead, it just makes him look like a fool and makes me not trust them even more. Yeah. And you mean he by Lester Holt?
Yes. Yeah. I want to play a clip here. JD Vance. It seems like weekend after weekend is giving a masterclass on how to handle the media. Listen to this. First of all, let me just respond to Dana Bash. You said. But I want to start with something you said, which I think is frankly disgusting and is more appropriate for a Democratic propagandist than it is for an American journalist.
There is nothing that I have said that has led to threats against these hospitals, these hospitals, the bomb threats and so forth. It's disgusting. The violence is disgusting. When we condemn it, we condemn all violence. This happened after you and President Danforth on the debate stage said DNA match. And you asked you asked a question day after day.
Go ahead and answer it. And after that, they were what we have said is that this town has suffered terribly under the or under the policies of Kamala Harris. Now, you just accused me of inciting violence against the community when all that I've done is surface the complaints of my constituents, people who are suffering because of Kamala Harris's policies, are we not allowed to talk about these problems because some psychopaths are threatening violence?
We can condemn the violence on the one hand, but also talk about the terrible consequences of Kamala Harris's open border, on the other hand. Okay. He handled that very well. He's so good. Yeah, he made the rounds all Sunday morning. I sent Neal a five minute clip of four different, appearances that he made. We could have played all five minutes.
He's amazing. I'm going to play another one here. This is same interview, Dana Bash, and he pointed out what you and I caught during the debate. Dana or no excuse me? It was, right after the interview with Kamala Harris where she gave them multiple potential answers that they could say, listen to this. And it would you like to ask me questions and then let me answer them, or would you like to debate me?
On on these topics, I noticed that when you had Kamala Harris and Tim Waltz, you gave them multiple choice answers to the questions that you asked, and you allowed them to answer the questions. I'm happy to hear to be here to talk about policy. But if you're going to interrupt me every single time that I opened my mouth, then why am I even doing this?
So please ask a question, and I'd ask you to be polite enough to let me answer it. Yes, I am, and I think that, she's, That's the key to an interview with Dana Bash is you've got to get right back after her, and she gets rattled. Yeah. Because that's what she did. She even admitted it in a follow up interview that she provided multiple choices.
And Kamala wouldn't take any of them and dig herself out. She herself admitted she did that. So why. She has nothing to come back with now. No she can't say anything to JD Vance. He is so good at this. Yeah. So good. You know what I like about this, Anna? I think more politicians should learn to do this because especially if you're conservative or you're a Republican, the media is not your friend and they will try to fact check you in real time.
And I mean, all of us have kind of Monday morning quarterbacked Trump's debate performance. But if it were Newt Gingrich or if it were Ted Cruz, or if it were JD Vance, they would not have let David mirror and Linsey Davis get away with what they were doing. And I think if I'm a Republican and I have the truth on my side, I flip the tables and I start fact checking the moderators.
That's what I would do. And and call them out on not fact checking. Kamala Harris. Excuse me. Kamala, I failed to mispronounce your name and I apologize, you racist. So. But I, but I would call out the moderators and bear their sins and put those in front and put them on the defensive, and I think Trump let them put him on the defensive, which was it was just it was kind of kind of hard to watch.
I don't think he really expected that. Also speaking of that, I, I want to see more of this affidavit to make sure that it's legitimate and true. But apparently someone inside ABC news, an employee, now a whistleblower, has signed an affidavit that ABC basically internally crafted this debate strategy for Kamala. They knew she knew that she wasn't going to be fact checked.
And, there was one other element to it, too. Okay, so here's how this affidavit rolls out. It was signed, notarized and postmarked on September 9th. The debate was September 10th. Okay. This person knew this was happening in advance, in advance. The postmark was not just on one set of the one affidavit that went to Congress. He also sent one to himself there there's or herself.
I don't know if it's a male or a female, but there were multiple certified letters sent out with the exact date and will need to be signed for the very smart that sent it to multiple places. Because if you only send it to one place, that person can claim they never got it right. So very smart to do certified.
It is notarized and dated September 9th. The debate was September 10th. What was asked by the by the, Kamala Harris campaign was that they she would be able to say whatever she wanted to say without being fact checked and that she wouldn't be asked any questions about her brother in law, Tony West. Am I remembering the right man?
Maybe, I don't know, I that name might be wrong, but he apparently is going to be an active part of the administration and he's currently in deep trouble with the law, embezzled billions. Wow. Yeah. And there was a couple of other things that were included in this affidavit that she insisted upon, or else she would not debate this employee of ABC says that they knew about this sign.
This affidavit sent it out on Monday. The debate was on Tuesday. Wow. I've seen it nowhere so far other than conservative media outlets. I haven't even seen it on Fox yet. Right. So, I we'll see how this develops. But again, I have to manage my own expectations. They may slam dunk prove this. And I, I think the mainstream media is just going to it's going to be either going to yawn at it.
I don't think it's going to be a big a big thing. Yeah. We're going to talk about cats and dogs in Springfield, Ohio for days and days and days. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Interesting. So it will there be another I know Trump said there will be no third debate. He said that definitively last week. But then I saw another headline that said he might change his mind if the debate rules are fair.
So if if you have this. I love the idea. Having audience microphones stay on all the time. Each side chooses a moderator that they want, and then they choose a third one together. I think if you had that and anybody can air this debate, all right. It's not exclusive to one media outlet. So they don't they can't control the rules in that way.
But it's a cooperative effort. I think Trump might change his mind and do another one. Yeah. I don't know if the affidavit don't go anywhere, but there is lots of reasons to believe she knew a list of topics at a minimum. Questions? Possibly. She gave an answer. Over the weekend, she did another interview. So she's done two now.
She did one with her, her security blanket vice presidential candidate, and then she did one alone on a local radio station. Very bizarre. It was horrible. It was a that she's rambling all over the place. She's not even making sense. One point that she did finally bring across across that was coherent was almost verbatim from an answer she had memorized for the debate.
Which makes you believe she knew what she was going to be to asked in the debate. That's a good she had memorized points. Yeah, yeah, that's that's a really good point. Part of the affidavit is as well. This was also another interesting angle on this because ABC said that, that the candidates could not be provided the questions or topics in advance, but then they're talking point.
When they were pressed about this, they said we didn't provide the questions in advance. Yeah. But the affidavit says sample questions were given. They weren't the exact questions that were going to be asked, but they were sample questions and the topics were the same. If you give me a sample question, I'm going to do just fine. So yeah, I'm going to be able to prepare something.
See, that's so slimy, so slimy. And at no point was Trump's team part of these negotiations. I think it also it should almost be like the rules that you have for a criminal case. Both sides get the same material. If one side gets it, the other side gets it. So they should treat disclosure. Yeah, there should never be anything, leaked or fed to one side.
Yeah, but it's an it was three against one. That is the take away from the debate. Three against one. And if this affidavit is true and they can follow up on it, I think it proves that it absolutely was three on one. But we don't really need it. We watched it and we saw it. Yeah, yeah. Agreed. Here's that that clip that you were talking about, Julie, where she gave basically the same answers in both.
I grew up in lower class kid. I was raised as a middle class kid, focusing on again the aspirations and the dreams. I believe in the ambitions and the aspirations, the dreams of the American people. I was a career prosecutor for most of my career. I started my career as a prosecutor, creating an opportunity economy where it's about investing in areas that really need a lot of work.
I intend to create an opportunity economy and obviously not Joe Biden. Clearly, I'm not Joe Biden that the vast majority of us as Americans, have so much more in common than what separates us. We all have so much more in common than what separates us. Okay, so you're right. This interview, probably she was guaranteed it was going to be a friendly interview also was edited.
So when we interview people, I would say 98% of the time it's live. Yeah. We don't can interviews very often. And the only reason we do can interviews is if the person who's interviewing with us can't meet a time slot. That's life. Yeah, right. We feel like that's super important for integrity. Oh yeah, I agree. I agree this was not a live interview.
They edited a portion of this interview before they played it that look, there's problems here. This woman is treated with kid gloves everywhere she goes. Yeah. Then is despite the interview being edited on the radio. Then when it was played clips were played on mainstream media. They edited them down even more. Yeah. So she can sound coherent, which is kind of hard to do.
I want to play a couple of these clips, and she talks about how people were proud of their lawns in I am So Weird. I grew up in a community of hard working people, you know, construction workers and nurses and teachers. And I try to explain this to some people who may not have had the same experience.
You know, if if a lot of people will relate to this. And I grew up in a neighborhood of folks who are very proud of their lawn, you know, and, you know, and I was raised to believe and to know that all people deserve dignity and that we as Americans have a beautiful character. You know, we have ambitions and aspirations and dreams, but not everyone necessarily has access to the resources that can help them fuel those dreams and ambitions.
So when I talk about building an opportunity economy, it is very much with the mind of investing in the ambitions and aspirations and and the incredible work ethic of the American people and creating opportunity for people, for example, to start a small business. I don't even know where that was going. It is just a bunch of words strung together.
Yeah, we're talking points like little phrases like, I believe in a better economy and small businesses. Under the Biden administration, you brought on 81,000 new IRS agents that are targeting small businesses. Stop gaslighting me. Yeah, I own a small business. Stop gaslighting. Are the people you're going after. Okay, if there was any word salad moment, this was it.
My approach is about new ideas, new policies that are directed at the current moment. And also, to be very honest with you, my focus is very much on what we need to do over the next ten, 20 years to catch up to the 21st century around again capacity, but also challenges. What is saying can on city and talking about like can you even imagine this woman meeting with a foreign leader now?
Oh my goodness. It's a trainwreck capacity channel. What does that mean? Kamala, what are you what the hell are you talking about? And you people want to trust her with this, I know. What are they seeing that we're not? Or what are they not seeing? We are like, what the is the skirt? That's what they're seeing. Honestly. The new people who are voting her for her.
Because you think it would be great to have a female president, okay. You have to have a competent female president, and we don't have a candidate that fits that bill. No, and it's sad. It's super sad. Okay, here's one more like it's look, I want her to be coherent. She might be the president of the United States. It might happen.
And she just gets in these moments where I honestly, can I be honest? I think she might be drunk in some of these and she just can't string together these. She did much better during the debate because it was so rehearsed. She had her talking points down perfectly, and now she sounds like she's repurposing those talking points. I love JD Vance because he's fluid and dynamic in every situation.
He doesn't have to rely on these old tired I just his it's just we deserve better than you know what set the left and the right thing aside for a minute. We deserve better than that. I my kids deserve better than that. Way better. There are people who sacrificed their lives. They deserve more than this. Than what we're offering up on the Democrat side.
Somebody who can't even put a sentence together can't handle foreign policy. When she goes to describe the war in Ukraine, her talking point is that we've got a smaller country and it's called Ukraine, and you've got a bigger country and it's called Russia. Really? We're not that stupid. No, but that's the way that they talk to us. I mean, we've been talking about Kamala Harris, Tim Walz live talk to a whole entire crowd treating them like kindergartners.
I'll I'll get to that in a moment. But speaking of the crowds, I wanted to play this very cringing. Now, you know, Kamala is very cringeworthy in almost every situation. This is next level cringe for Kamala Harris. Listen to this. She's talking to the Congressional Black Caucus. I believe. Hello to all my Divine Nine brothers and sisters. Am I so right?
Yes, this. And to all my HBCU brothers and sisters, it's okay. Julie, scale of 1 to 10. Is she drunk? I if I saw that not knowing who Kamala was, I would say that a drunk person. Yeah. So maybe this is just where she goes to because it played well at sorority parties. It worked well in a bar for her.
And that's her foundation. Yeah, I don't know. That doesn't work well for me. You can't go into political situations and talk like this and and actually mount any sort of respect from anyone. You know what? I think we all know adults like this, and they might be fun or likable. They're not serious people. They're not somebody who should be running a country.
Absolutely not. They shouldn't run. They shouldn't run a company. Well she hasn't. All right. Well, that's true too. You're right. But, like, she, it's just embarrassing. So I saw this clip bouncing around all weekend long because it's so cringeworthy, and I can only take so much. I didn't listen to all 18 seconds of it until I. This morning I was prepping the clip and I heard it, and I'm like, half of that is just her cackling.
So I pulled out just the laughing. Do you want to hear it? And by the way, out of 18 seconds, it's eight seconds. So it's nearly half of her time she's spent with the cackle. That's.
It's. That's who the Democrats want as the president of the United States. Yeah, yeah. Now you're probably listening. It sounds like it's working right. The crowd is really engaged at this rally. I would say they are. However. Yeah, that crowd is not representative. Just like Trump's crowds are not of the entire voting base. And she has lost double digits in the black vote.
Yeah, it is important to remember that. So when she's pandering to these people, this is the the section of the black vote that enjoys the pandering. But there is a section that does not and has shifted and will not be voting for her. Yeah. You know what I find interesting? You tell me, Julie, if if you see the same pattern I do, it seems that Kamala, the only time she ever gets a bit of a boost in the polls is when she's in a very scripted and controlled environment, like the debate, like the DNC, like announcing a running mate, all of that.
But when she's has to be herself, when she has only herself to rely on in a given moment, that's when we see these really cringe. Embarrassing moments. Yes, and her polls start to slip. This is another reason why Trump should not debate her, because keep her as much as possible in those environments where she doesn't have as much control impromptu, they can't script it as much that if I were Trump, I wouldn't give her that opportunity because there's a there's sadly, as a significant portion of our country that is just so eager for her to look okay and acceptable.
And, and now those all those moments only exist if there's a debate with Trump. That's it. Yeah. That's it. Here's Julie you reference this. This is Tim Walz wife. We've got a break here soon. And and imagine she's turning a page not just on a small book, but on a really big picture book.
Think about, like sassy women when they do the snap, snap, snap and it goes clear across their body. She's just doing one of those across her body when she gives this. Yeah, she's at a rally. There's so much of this that has to do with body language. We'll talk about it after. I kind of liked it when she did this.
Turn the page. You like that? Okay. So I need you to be with me and practice with me. What are we going to do? We're gonna turn the page. Oh. Pretty good. Do it again. We're gonna turn the page and we're gonna turn the page. All right? So I'm going to be watching you. Because when I see Wisconsin and I want to watch you nationally on TV because it's in pretty important place in Minnesota, help you practice with this, you just show me this.
Turn the page, right. Turn the page. And you know what else that looks like? Bye bye. Bye bye. Donald Trump. We are turning the page and 52 days and we are turning the page. If you didn't know this by by Donald Trump. Oh, wow. And if you watch her, she hardly blinks like something is going on there. Wacky eyes.
Yeah. Wacky eyes going on. I don't know who enjoys being talked to like a toddler, but that's what the speeches and the shrill voice when she's trying to talk louder and louder. Yeah, all of it was so disturbing to me. The wacky eyes especially. So I don't know if you you notice things more than I do, Julie, but did you watch Tim Walls while she was doing this?
He almost felt like she was stealing the show, and he didn't like it because she was really all over the place. Like, he's getting really antsy and jumpy and. Yeah, like, he wanted that cheering to be for him. It was like a weird and weird thing. All right. 933 on this Monday, we'll be back after the news. Hello, Facebook.
Facebook. Christine, that was Tim's wife. Yeah, that was talking at and he's. If you could see the clip, he's standing right next to her. He gave her a moment at the microphone. Is that true or not? Blinking can be the sign of a narcissist. Oh, I don't know. Maybe. Yeah. I have no idea. It is.
I, I can tell you for certain wacky ice wacky eyes on this lady. Okay, so he went to court this morning. They charged him with possession of a firearm by felon, possession of a firearm with obliterated serial number. So he scratched off the serial numbers on the gun. Okay, okay, they're going to hold him on anything. This. There will probably be additional charges after the investigation, but they just got to hold him, so.
But nothing that says he fired a shot. Probably not. Or CNN is not putting it on there. I mean, that's the option to.
So Biden said the Secret Service quote needs more help after the Trump apparent assassination. So it takes two assassination attempts before the president says, okay, the other side needs more help. I forget he's our president. I do too, like I he's such an afterthought anymore. Okay, let's do a quick do you have Timberline? I do, but, we have all week to do too.
So it's up to you what you want to do. Let's do it right here. And then we'll go right back into the. Okay, the news. The news. Oh, okay. Hit it. When I hit my face on there. This is why there's lipstick all over my mitt. Cover. Oh, yeah. Someone said listening to you this morning on the debate.
And the Whistle-Blower heard she was killed in a car accident. No, that was not true. That was just a rumor. Did you hear that? I didn't hear that. That the whistleblower from ABC news is now dead. Well, and it was some website Marjorie Taylor Greene had retweeted it. But when you went to the website, it was just some fake looking news site.
The said Lake County Local news.com. But they didn't have a location or a name or okay, brutal honesty here. I don't I don't not like Marjorie Taylor Greene. I don't consider her X account viable information ever. Yeah. I when I hardly ever send you anything from her. Some people fall for her things. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh. What the, the thing from Mike Colson last week that I forgot.
I wonder if we should, Re. Yes, we can do that. Okay.
All right. It's, 937 on Newstalk 107, I, Neal Larson and Julie Mason. Hey, we need to chat about the fall clearance sale at Timberline Home. It's going on right now. I got out all of my fall decor over the weekend. Front porches, decorated new flowers in my house. So why not just continue that through your house? Maybe you need a new sofa for fall, or maybe a love seat.
Or maybe it's time to redo your bedroom set or the guest bedroom. Or maybe you're getting ready for Thanksgiving and you need a new dining room set. All of those are on sale at the fall clearance sale at Timberline Home. They have financing with up to two full years of no interest, so now's a great time. Even if you hadn't budgeted in all of the money, you got two years to pay it off interest free.
It's 711 East Anderson in Idaho Falls. You can also go to shop timberline.com and see all of their inventory. I highly recommend. I recommend asking for Sean when you get there if you visit the store. 711 East Anderson. He is a wealth of knowledge and he can answer all of your questions and help you through the buying process.
All right, we're going to break really quick. Went long in that first segment. So now we have the news for you. We'll be back if you'd like to join us on the fall River propane call and text line. Here's the number (208)Â 542-1079. Okay. Okay. Robert, if you can't get that movie link to work that we sent back to you with the code word tickets, just go to Royal theaters.com theaters as E.r.s Royal theaters.com.
Then choose the Paramount, then choose the date which is Thursday. Then pick the 720 showing. So once you get to the website it's super easy. So Royal theaters.com. We've sold a few. Do we need to get our seats? Probably. Okay, let's I'll just get them two seats in the back of the theater. Okay. That works. You know what I'll do?
I think this might be good. I can do a screen record. I'll just do a screen record of going to Royal theaters. Where to click your tickets and then put it up on our Facebook. Yeah, that's. So Trump supposed to meet with the Secret Service today. So, let me ask you a question. Butler Pennsylvania was an obvious security failure.
Because the I mean, that guy was out in the open. He was on a very visible roof. Lots people saw him. He was 130 yards away. Like, was this a little different? Because there was foliage to hide in, and it might have been more difficult to to detect. It wasn't nearly as close. This was 400 yards away, I believe.
And I mean, can you always keep a perimeter that big even in wooded areas? And does that make sense? I mean, yeah, you never want the president to do this, but but is this a more understandable scenario than Butler was? Okay, I don't I guess I believe that the short answer is yes, but let's talk about the fact that it's a golf course and the fact that it wasn't on his schedule.
It's pretty easy to think that Trump is going to golf on a Sunday. He has almost every Sunday. Yeah, yeah, he got criticized roundly for it when he was president because he I mean, our current president can go on vacation 40% of the time. Yeah. Trump couldn't golf on Sundays because that was too leisurely. Yeah. As far as the mainstream media.
So to guess that he's going to be on that golf course was a pretty good guess. Yeah. Okay. Now, with that being said, I did see a comparison yesterday that when Obama golfs, which isn't very often his Secret Service detail, everybody has to that is on the golf course that day has to be checked, and the Secret Service makes the rounds of the golf course before he starts.
Okay? Okay. Well, he doesn't golf very often now, do I believe that they have limited Donald Trump's Secret Service detail to as bare minimum as they can possibly? Yeah, I do, I don't think we should even be surprised about that. Yeah. But also he golfs all the time. That's a lot to do every Sunday when he golfs.
So they have found what works, which is he sends his Secret Service detail ahead, either a hole or two at a time. They clear the area and then he plays through. Yeah, well, that's it was a really very well trained and very alert Secret Service officer that saw it. He could see the barrel of the gun. Okay. And that's when it all went down.
Yeah. Trump wasn't near it. In fact, I don't even know if radioing happened because they didn't tackle Trump until they heard shots. Oh gosh. That's how quick it went down. Okay. Thank goodness. Because geez, they waited way too long in Butler. So yeah right. Go ahead and react this way to seeing a barrel of a gun. Yeah.
Oh I agree I do think that I think that they're going to slim down his Secret Service detail as much as they can. I don't think they ever want to give him anything. Yeah. I think they're going to do the bare minimum. Yeah. So they're they're doing a live thing. Let's join it. All right. 944 on Newstalk 179, Sheriff William Schneider is speaking out of West Palm Beach right now.
Let's listen and see what he has to say about this recent assassination attempt. Don't give it a chance to run. And, you know, the onus is on the driver. And if he did not stop, that would been a mess out there. And, I guess you're Bradshaw. I believe I may be incorrect. I believe he mentioned license plate readers, and and that's kind of how they determine who this guy was going north of 95.
Did that plane to Europe. Did you guys use this license when we were technology as well, to kind of get a leg up or. Yeah, almost. The question is, do we use license plate technology? You know, my my, right. Trust practice is never to mention methodologies or sources resources. But we have to in this case because Palm Beach County already told us what to look for.
And that's all we need to take today. Here was the vehicle description. It was the tags. So we were on it. And and think about this this weekend. Traffic 95 I mean I just thank God we found that car and were able to give I think we're able to give former President Trump a peace of mind. He's violated the men and women that were involved in the stop to to go to my Lago and be thankful what they did.
He Trump extended an invitation and said, what can you do? Roughly where the deputies sort of spotted the vehicle was in my fridge right on the side of the bridge, over North Bridge, over. Yeah, I we originally picked it up somewhere around the Palm City exit. So that would be 714. And it took us about two miles to get all the resources in place so we could surround that vehicle and force it to a stop.
How was he driving when he saw? How was he drive when we saw him? He was being smart. If it's just driving or slow traffic. Yeah, I, I think that, he thought he got away with it because he could have known that there was a witness who did the right thing and took a picture of him, took a picture of the tag, and, he thought he got away with it.
He. Of course, he could have known that there was a witness who really did the right thing. Took a picture of him, took a picture of the tag, and he just screamed, drive himself back to where he came from. Did he have any, to your knowledge, any ties to Martin County or the treasure Coast? To my knowledge.
Is he have any ties to Marquez? He's to my knowledge, yes. Answers. No, I have no knowledge. I think what we're finding out is not from this area. Which, of course, raises the bigger question is, how does a guy from not here get all the way to up to Trump International? Your eyes at the president from president. United States is golfing and is able to get a marshal in that vicinity.
I think that's a question. The FBI in service of or laser focused on today. Is this guy part of a conspiracy to shield them from the lone government? President Trump is that much safer because we have them as part of a conspiracy. Then this whole thing really takes on a very, ominous tone. And, Jared, you mentioned a witness a few seconds ago when it comes to that witness, you guys always, when it comes to case of saying, please let us know if you see this person.
So if you see this, that one witness may not know what you guys did. Well that's good. Your comment in question to the one witness all possible answers. Unequivocally yes. Just take a minute. Let's say he brought down the 10th assassination. Nobody sees him. He gets away. Actually, he was gotten away with surveillance on. And, they'd still be looking for him now, the first he's doing fingerprints.
All of the things that we do, we're. And then we will have to find him. So. Yeah, that witness deserves our credit. Share. What's going through your mind at this time? As you said, this is probably the most high profile, situation in Warren County. Maybe in history with this suspect as sheriff. What's going through your mind thing saying, hey, this is actually happening in our county, right?
But what's going through my mind is, Sheriff, as we made this stop, is that, this is a once in a career. So once in a lifetime event. I mean, how many people get a shot off at the former president? The United States? I mean, the few guys are even shot once, and then for for that suspect to come into this county, I got somebody asking me, does it feel right to, Lee Harvey Oswald, you know, and Jack Ruby, a situation where you know, the Dallas police and that they catch the assassin case of John F Kennedy.
So I feel like the wrapping, hyperbolic is this touch of history, and, it's a crime again. I just have to stress it's a credit goes to those, very worried, control officers who made the stop and took the chance to know where exactly what, 95. This maybe just a better sense of where the actual where things ended, I suppose.
Yeah. Where things actually. Yeah. So we put the car up at about the one time my marker two miles north down. But which time you shut down all northbound traffic we got going to slide five, slow everybody down. And within two miles of the wrong turn. So right about the wrong 12, we're able to make the stop and, neutralize the subject.
Yeah. Video and yeah, we are bodies. Body, body camera. Don't have any school at over. You know that. I'm not sure that we do. And this was a traffic jam. We'll have dash manners. Course, we have body wounds, and we're going to traffic. You just have to have the dash cameras for the two hours. I don't know that we actually have the video of the stop, other than the body cameras were all activated, but you sit around in there, but you get a picture of the steering wheel of another car involved in it for.
And did you guys have your helicopter in that sort of involved in this auto club? You never had to go airborne. Pbso was right overhead, right of way. So the other society, this county sheriff's office, sent a bond. Supposed five words with that car, make sure it was safe. Everybody put a hand. Yes, we caught him.
But everybody, this is a this is a team effort. You said bomb search with dog or something like that as well. CSO not like they're kind of big truck. The bomb disposal, the dog, the bomb sniffing canine dog. Okay, well, thank you very much. I've been, I've been in front of TMZ. All right, Julie, what do you think?
Okay, here's what I liked about that. I. I love the transparency of the sheriff. You guys can't see him. He's older. Yeah, I don't think he's got anything to lose. He's not running for a higher office, but, yes, he's retiring from this job. Yeah, which is why I think he can say the things that he just said, which is we should have big concern that somebody came from Hawaii and got this close.
And we need to look into the into the theories of why that was possible. I'm glad he put it on the table, because now, you know that when the national media guys and the government controls the narrative, that's just conspiracy talk. But here you have a sheriff, he's the top law enforcement official in that county, and he's saying he's asking the questions average, normal people ask.
Yes. And he has a right to. It was his men and women that took down the guy on the freeway. Yes. Yeah, absolutely. Eight 952 on Newstalk 1079 we'll come back. We'll wrap it up after this on the Nielsen show. I like that guy, okay? I love it because he's not somebody who's climbing some ladder and has to say the appropriate things, or not say the things that everybody else is asking, because he might screw up that problem, a promotion.
This guy's got nothing to lose. Yeah, yeah. Yes. Good. You know, it does for me. You absolutely have to ask the question. I it but it hasn't reached that point yet where I'm highly suspicious that this is a conspiracy or an inside job or something like that, but it it has to be left on the table and looked at for sure.
Now, Butler. That's a different story. There's too many people who are not answering questions. So much is hidden in Butler and that should make you question even more on a local level. Let's talk about this. We interviewed Chief Johnson with the Idaho Falls Police Department, and he said at this point, they are doing their best, that anytime there is a situation that especially involves, a cop being aggressive or a cop having to use a firearm or anything like that, his goal is to get all of the information out to the public within one week.
Yeah. Do you know what that does? It instills confidence into your police department. Yeah, because they're not trying to hide things. I interviewed Sheriff Brian Lovell on on Friday for the We Share podcast. He said nearly the exact same thing, that they are trying very hard to be transparent about what's going on. They're holding on, trainings with parents so that they can talk to them about school shootings.
They're trying very hard to be transparent, because what that does is it increases confidence in your law enforcement. Yeah, I like this. Him asking those questions makes me go. He wants to know too. He wants to know the things I want to know. That gives me confidence that the right stuff is happening. Yeah. Well, yeah. Put out as much as possible.
I mean that's the. Yeah. Yeah. I also think when like Chief Johnson or Brian level when they, they have that approach, I think it also sends a message to your police officers to we're not going to cover for you. There's not going to be this shroud of secrecy because we're committed to getting good information out to the public in a short amount of time.
Yeah. And so, yeah, so Governor Abbott's going to talk about the border crisis. It looks like a Venezuelan gang has taken over a hotel. And that's one of the reasons that he's going to hold this in Texas. In Texas. Okay. Why do they let this happen I don't know I don't know okay. Help me walk through the legal tape.
Why can't Abbott call in the National Guard. That was my first question is you bring in the National Guard and you clear that hotel it down. Absolute. Unless they're holding hostages or, you know, if if but why? I mean, that's my very first thought. And I also don't understand all of the legal tape. So maybe there's a reason he's not doing it, but you have them at your disposal.
Yeah. You residents are being threatened. I, I don't know. So I was mowing the lawn on Saturday and I had created the playlist for the debate. Oh, yeah. And one of the songs I chose was, Jason Aldean. Try that in a Small Town. Yeah. Anyway, so I heard that while I was mowing, and this made me think of that, if that something like that would happen in a small town, it would be over pretty quick.
Yeah. I can't imagine the outrage that would happen in this area. Yeah. First off, we'd figure out who owns the hotel and or the motel, and we would get behind them and what they're desiring. Yeah, it's true.
957 on this Monday. Who's saying it? Julie? It's Depeche Mode. No, the cure. No. Okay. Simple minds. Okay. I was in the right group there. All those people would have lunch together. It's kind of the genre. That's true. Yeah, yeah. Anyway, it's a good song from the, from the 80s. So there is more now. The Venezuelan gangs are taking over a hotel in Houston.
Hey, I'm not sure what Texas city it is. It's okay. I know it's a Texas city. And, Governor Abbott's going to give a press conference about it. Well, we asked the same question here with one minute left, why don't you call in the National Guard and take care of that problem real quick? Yeah, I said that. I mean, when we were talking with the Facebook Live audience, I don't understand the legal tape that he has to go through.
Maybe there is some or maybe this press conference is going to be the thread that we're going to do this I don't have to see. But then, Fox News flashed up, how many people or how many states are having these problems with gangs? Colorado, Texas, Florida. Which makes sense. Those two, they're the only two red ones. Those two because of them being border states.
But then you've also got Wisconsin, Illinois, New York. These are blue run states because it's easier to get away with this stuff there. And quite honestly, the hotel owners are getting kickbacks, government kickbacks in these blue run areas that well, there's that. Plus we heard from someone. Oh well I won't say who. Yeah, that basically the hotels get trashed.
They can file an insurance claim, get a new hotel to said they're not that they're not that bent over it. All right. That's going to do it for the show today. Have a wonderful Monday. Julie and I back tomorrow right here on Newstalk 179.
